  • Best Decision!
I purchased these for my wife's birthday along with the T5 sub and a turntable. These speakers sound great. I was so impressed with them in every way. Easy to use, easy to setup, great sound, they get plenty loud, they are heavy for their size, and they look good! I love being able to listen to a record, then turn on Bluetooth and find something I don't have on vinyl. I'm glad these were my first Edifier speakers because I will definitely be getting more when I need better audio for my computer setup. ... show more

  • Edifier R1700BTs with cheap Sub
Ok sound for the $179 price, not in same class as the Edifier S2000MKIIIs..but we know that. These are used for work/game station duty in spare bedroom. I placed these against the Bose Companion 3 that did very well with their DSP propped up lower base. I wanted the sub out and BT features, when needed, so reluctantly returned the Bose. If size, front on\off volume control and headphone jacks needed, Bose wins! Edifier did a good job throwing in the creature features at this price point. DSP can only do so much for 4” low bass. Depending on material, I think some people will be happy without the extended bass. I’m not one of them. Using old cheap Onkyo HTIB sub, worked fine for extension down to 40 Hz. The Edifiers were invisible at that end so a lot depends on source and if both channels have same low end signal. If using a sub with left/right summing with phase and crossover, you’re golden! My cheap Onkyo only has a level control and worked very well with patch cable using one of the two RCA jacks to sub single RCA input. I did add old Rat Shack electronic crossover to add phase and adjustable crossover and, full left/right channels to sub, all found on better subs. I’m using 80 Hz X-over, with normal phase in my case, YMMV. I did not like the idea of using a Y adapter unless approved by Edifier as to not ding their sub output. NO response from Edifier, via E-male, minus 1 star. Why is not all this printed in manual for NERDS? Kettle drums now ROCK! Overall sound improved, so old junk lying around wins! Why does Edifier NOT use a Blue Tooth remote like my PS3? Range complaints would no longer be an issue; I get 60 foot range from my BT remotes, these IR remotes could use a second emitter? BT paring worked fine to phone and tablet, No hissing or dropouts detected but I’m in a RF quiet residential area. I use cables between speaker and PC as main connection. I’ll use BT when needed. These will work fine until Edifier releases the S2000MKIIIs for $179. ... show more

  • An Excellent Addition to my Computer!
These speakers replaced a pair of Bose units. The sound quality is 100% better with nice and clear treble and bass. I added a small subwoofer and speaker risers to further better the sound. Some reviws have mentioned that they feel these speakers are no good for full room listening. I have to disagree. Using only moderate volume they fill my small space with music quite nicely. I'm very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • very good
very good sound quality for the 200 it cost and when paired with a subwoofer it's a very solid option

  • Good, but cable seems to be going out
Speakers sound great and have plenty of volume for my office, however the left speaker recently started cutting out and I believe it may be the cable. I have to maneuver the cable at the connection for the speaker to work, but it won't stay in place for the speaker to remain connection. I have had these speakers for less than a year and they've just sat on my desk with near daily listening. I guess it's a proprietary speaker cable because I can only find a replacement on their website. ... show more

  • Love it!
Really impressed with the sound. I originally got a Creative Pebble be, and although that was good, this was better. I understand that this was 5 times as much but I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it.

  • Just buy it.
These things rock. Yeah, they're a little pricey. But it's worth it.
