I had to replace a smaller Edgestar cooler that had the compressor fail and was no longer cooling the wine. Hopefully Edgestar a Texas based company has made the necessary improvements and this new unit so it will last longer than 4-5 years. For the price it better. I am giving this company a second chance because this is one of the nicest look units offered that is free standing, duel temperature control and the quiet operation. It can also be installed into a cabinet under the counter. One of the improvements I have noticed over the previous model it the temperature, on/off and light are on the inside of each door. The previous model had those adjustments on the outside as a touch sensitive digital display that would change the setting whenever you touched the top of the unit. This new unit has physical button that you have to press to change the temperature. Also the lighting is not glaring like the previous unit. ... show more

I will start by saying that, thanks to other Amazon reviewers, I was keenly aware that the storage capacity of this cooler is not 56 bottles!! I bought this unit because of its dual temperature zones (compartments) which allows me to store my red wines at one temperature and my white wines at a cooler temperature. The unit is very compact measuring 29-1/2" wide, 34-1/2" high and 23-5/8" deep. We were easily able to build it into a cabinet in our family room. I've just received this and I'm so disappointed. After a trip to Napa, stocking up on wines, I purchased this unit as a free-standing piece in my bar area. The information said 56 bottle storage. Not quite. That's only for tall skinny bottles like some of the Rose I purchased, in fact, that's the only bottle where 4 fit on a shelf. All other shelves, including the bottom storage area only fit 3 with 1/2 bottle space left over. I'm sure you could remove a shelf, realign the rest for more room vertically, but that still removes storage capacity and doesn't address the width issue on each shelf which does not permit anything vaguely similar to a pinot or chardonnay bottle. Shelf capacity: 3 not 4 I really find this to be a lack of truth in advertising, and I'm upset I accepted the shipment without being allowed to check this, as the shipment through Amazon is curbside only. I will say the quality of the unit is nice, it's quiet and chilled quickly. But they completely mislead you on the capacity. I wish they had been honest, I'd have purchased something larger. I can’t speak to this long term, only had for about 6 weeks but it fit 54 bottles and its pretty quite. You can hear it kick on sometimes but it’s not in a main room so doesn’t bother me. Best part is it locks and the temperature control are inside the locked door, keeping it safe from little fingers messing with it! ... show more

We have an error code of the door switch not working within two weeks of receiving this. Hugely frustrating as we have renters coming very soon. They said they can’t send us a new one as they don’t have it. And they can’t find anyone to fix it. So they’re not living up to their warranty at all. It worked great until it no longer worked. The manufacturer gave me some troubleshooting instructions. Then they said they couldn't fix it and I would have to find someone to service the unit. After talking with all the local service companies, no one wants to touch it.

Ordered this for my kitchen remodeling project. It was delivered seamlessly. I started it up and it’s been running for a while, but not in its final location as remodeling is not done.
