Fairly easy to assemble. Feels like a pretty sturdy bike but haven't had it long enough to know if battery life is sufficient or not. The meal piece on the frame holoder the derailer and gaurd was bent. After beniding the gaurd a little and adjusting the high and low gears and indexing the other gears I was ablt to get all gears working except 7th gear which will not work since the metal piece connected to the frame was bent. Its not the best ebike out there but its a good starter bike for its price. Though if you could afford it, get one with a better battery for longer range if you plan on just using full throttle since you only get like 12 miles or so of range, should be more if you use peddle assist. Or just get an extra battery for more range, otherwise its a good and fun bike. It goes 20 mph on flat ground, 15 on uphill's and 24 downhills. Not to hard to assemble, just need a small wrench to attach one of the fenders. The rest of the tools needed come with the bike. Make sure everything is tightened before using it. No display on it, just a control with buttons that let you adjust the amount of assist/speed you're gonna get. You might wanna look into a shock absorbent seat or suspension fork since places with awful bumps will be felt. In order to fold it, make sure to pull on the lever otherwise it wont fold. Buy some lights for it if you plan on using it in the night or early morning. Tips for new ebike owners: Make sure to adjust your brakes since they may squeak or scrape the brakes as you're riding it and don't forget to buy some supplies like degreaser and chain lube to keep your chain in good conditions, as well as clean your brake pads and disc so they don't squeak. Patches for in case of flats, Slime helps too. Spare brake pads if you do a lot of down hills. ... show more

I have no prior experience with an e bike, and can't claim a lot of time on regular bicycles, either. What I know is that I LIKE to ride this bike. This gets me to be more active. What makes it special for me? My first experience at turning the throttle - ZOOM! I researched pretty extensively - this was the one small enough for me (5'1"), and priced in the right range. The 500 watt still gives plenty of range and power for my uses. I haven't taken it more than 3 miles from my house yet. I live on a dirt road, and these fat tires are perfect! We have trails near the house that I ride, and when I get tired of pedaling, I just turn the throttle. I haven't folded it, nor lifted it, and I don't plan on it, either. Some of the things I don't like are not a surprise, I knew I was sacrificing these things. 1. no suspension 2. no rear rack or front basket. 3. I replaced the seat with a different seat from my old bike. If you want some exercise and wind in your face - I highly recommend this. The pedal assist is adjustable with the gears, get as much or as little motor help, or just turn the throttle and keep your legs still, just let it go! ... show more

Brakes are embarrassing noisy. The way the front wheel attaches is a VERY Poor design (kind of dangerous) the front wheel pulls to one side bc the pads aren't inline with disc (could not find a way to adjust) . when it pulls to the side it causes the safety lock/bolt that holds the wheel on to loosen and if that happens and you hit a bump pretty hard I suppose it could possibly fall off. Upgrade to a more comfortable seat, you'll be happier with the bike. The bike handles great and the ergonomics are proportionate to about any size person. Over all we love the bikes ECOTRIC 500W Electric Bike Dolphins (we bought 2) Awesome power and batteries last a long time, power is smooth, bikes fold up nice and not too heavy with the batteries removed. We do love them! I do recommend for the money. I wish they could improve the brakes and better front wheel attachment. ... show more

I have been using this to commute for a couple weeks now, and I am quite pleased. Pros: Fast (~ 23 mph full battery, ~20 mph <1/2 battery) Decent battery life (~25 mi with light peddling for initial acceleration or uphill) Relatively light compared to similar models Big wheels - yet to see how these hold up to ice/snow Foldable Pretty easy to assemble - just follow the video Good price compared to similar models Quiet - I can barely hear it at full acceleration Cons (very minor): The battery is a little loose, and the lock will squeak while you are riding unless you oil it a bit The rear break needs to be a little weak to not slow you down when not using it The front break causes the front bar to wobble a little since the part that connects to the middle of the frame has a bit too much of a gap The pedals are a bit short for me (I am 5'11") The gears do not shift properly and will not go to the highest or lowest setting, though I really don't use them anyway. The adjustment shown in the video does not exist on the white model The front fender came bent, but the company replaced it for free. It was not an essential part, so I could still ride without it in the meantime. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The battery doesn't sit flush in its mounting and the fender attachments came bent. I haven't ridden it yet so I'll update once I can get the fender figured out. That battery not fitting worries me though. It can't be good to have water get in there but this is my first electric bike so maybe it's fine. ... show more

Good bike for first year. Bought two at same time a black one and a white one. White one after a year now needs a new controller. This is to solve the problem with the integrated PAS system. With out the fix bike is rather dangerous in that every pedal sends the bike accelerating faster than the throttle setting. ... show more
