I purchased this filter, then went to replace it yesterday & noticed it would not fit. Too long to fit inside air filter canister. Checked out customer reviews here last night & read the instructions written by multiple helpful buyers. You DO need to compress this filter before attempting to install it into the air filter housing. Once that is done it will fit inside, but you have to "mold" the air filter housing (it's very pliable plastic) to conform to the shape of the filter, then tighten the 4 screws on the housing. This was the 1st time I tried to replace this filter on this car. THANK YOU to all of the very helpful people who took the time to give me advice. I would NEVER have thought to compress the filter prior to installing. ... show more

I switched over to the Ecogard filter due to Amazon not having the Motorcraft (1908) in stock anymore and the price doubled from other sellers. So far I like it, the installation was really simple. Many people state that it's the wrong filter and won't fit. They are incorrect. It's a pretty straightforward process and took less than 5 min. 1. I believe it's an 8mm size to undo the screws, 4 in total. 2. Remove old filter, pull towards the right and lift out. 3. There will be a little tab on the end of the filter (shown in picture). This will go straight at the bottom. There is a little guide slot for the end to slide into. This is where most people say it wont fit. You have to ensure the filter is in its slot which may take a bit of muscle to push it left. 4. Once into the slot. You are pretty much finished. Just put the cover on and tighten down the screws. This was done on my 2015 Ford focus with the 2.0L motor. ... show more

This fits so perfectly. I just soaped the ends a bit and fits perfectly in the box. These have to fit perfectly in the ford as the end of the filter is what closes the filter box.
