We have had a K&N washable HVAC filter for a couple of years now. It works well by this cleaner is kind of expensive but better than throwing old ones in trash every month.

This stuff really does work. And it's in a standard size spray bottle, so it will last you quite a long time. Simply spray it on the intake side (dirty side), let it soak for five minutes and gently rinse it thoroughly. Then take it outside and put it in a sunny spot for an hour to dry out. Then put it back it. Simple! What you are cleaning is mainly the thin foam filter inside the housing which traps the micro particles. This isn't going to last forever, so it's why you have to replace these filters every five to six years. Just be gentle when cleaning them, especially with your rinse water, a gentle spray should work, don't use a harsh high speed hose. ... show more

I, bought two bottles of the k&m cleaner and both of the spray pumps do not work properly. Other than that the cleaner does its job.

A K&N whole house HVAC filter came with our new home so I was intrigued since I previously only knew them in cars! So I pulled out the filter to clean it and used hot water in the tub with a hand sprayer. I cleaned it both sides until no more dirt came out. Then I sprayed the K&N filter cleaner on it and repeated the process. A lot more dirt came out! I let the filter dry outside for a whole day —we were going to be gone anyway. Then replaced it the next day. It cooled much more quickly. I think I have enough cleaner in this bottle to last me for several years. ... show more

I bought this product when I bought a K & N HVAC filter for our house. I tried to use it for the first time yesterday...and the brand new bottle does not spray. The trigger spray system is broken. Sadly, it has been too long since I ordered it for Amazon to do anything about it...so I am waiting to hear from K & N. UPDATE! I just got off the phone with the K & N Customer Service Department (Google it because Amazon won't provide the number). They apologized for the defective product and are shipping me a new bottle with 2 day Fed Ex shipping. So 5 stars for K & N's Customer Service (and quality products) ... show more
