I wanted better gas mileage. I got it. I'd like to say I passed a Ferrari with the extra umphf, but that's not true. Getting on the freeway is better for a TourX. My only concern is micro particles that get by. Just keep the oil changed. Either way the filter is one part of the equation with all the computers on a car today. ... show more

Wow! This is the air cleaner, just in size and configuration, that should come from the factory especially for a car used in California. The stock one is so undersize and useless looking, I can't imagine how the engine ran very well with it.

I don't know why Amazon sends a message saying this filter won't fit my 2016 Malibu. The K&N web site says this is the designated number. I went ahead and ordered it and it does fit the 2016 Malibu. In fact it also fits my wife's 2018 Malibu Premier with the 2.0. The acceleration improvement is outstanding and my reported Mpg has already improved by 3 mpg. I have K&Ns in all my vehicles.     • Provides Required Airflow to Turbo
The filter we had on the Malibu was mostly a plastic panel with a small rectangular section of filter in the middle. This small section of filter sat on top of a plastic feature inside the air box, further restricting airflow. This K&N filter is all filter for the entire surface area of the filter. For turbo cars, airflow makes a big difference, and we were experiencing some definite performance issues, as well as an A/C issue where it never cooled well. Once I installed this filter, the A/C was noticeably cooler, as the motor could now easily rev as needed to keep the compressor running, and power the car forward. I believe any paper filter that covers the whole area of this filter size would be almost as good. But, it's hard to go wrong with a K&N filter. I've never had the oiled MAF issues everybody always warns about. ... show more
