After the heater shuts off, the fan runs an additional 4 or 5 minutes until the heater cools sufficiently.     • A nice fan, but does not work well with pellet stoves
This is the second "heat" powered fan I've tried on our pellet stove. The first one barely moved, even with the pellet stove on a higher temp, so it went back. The Ecofan description touted the fan's ability to work on pellet stoves because it required less heat than other fans. I was dubious, especially since it was priced almost twice as expensive as the first fan I tried. So I set up the Ecofan on my one year old pellet stove and while the blades turned when on medium temp setting, they turned slowly and it didn't generate enough air movement to make even a whisper in our air circulation. So the fan kind of worked as advertised, but not well enough to make a difference. I don't believe the fan is defective as the build quality of the unit is top notch. I'm betting it would be a superior performer on a standard wood stove, although Amazon has other units that are less expensive and should work well on a wood stove also. . I'm convinved at this point that "heat" fans simply don't work with pellet stoves as they just don't get hot enough to do any good. So this one goes to the UPS store tomorrow and my search for enhanced air circulation continues. ... show more

We first bought a different fan for our wood stove, trying to save money, ended up sending it back because it didn't distribute the air very well . So Glad we got this Ecofan !! You can really feel the difference . It moves the air around Very well.

    • Fan quit working.
The Fan was working very well and after 4 weeks it quit working. The blades are very loose and will not turn. Return date has passed and I am now stuck with a $100+ piece of junk. Not very impressed.
