Title kinda says it all. But, I’ll say a lot more. My cat has gobs and gobs of toys around the house, including other kinds and brands of feather wands, but he’s never responded to any other toy with this level of pure enthusiasm and enjoyment!! He wants to play with THESE wands CONSTANTLY. I think it’s a combo of the feather size and variety (perfect!) and the fact that the feathers are not dyed, so they retain the coloring and patterns (and to him, the illusion) of being real birds (and also probably don’t smell or taste as funny to his acute feline senses as some of those neon-dyed ones do). The wands themselves are also superior in quality to anything else we’ve had (and we’ve had a LOT! Including other telescoping kinds). They actually stay telescoped when you want them to, are an ideal length, and provide just the right amount of spring and flexibility. The monofilament line that the feather attachments hook to, are the perfect length and tinsel strength. The small bells on the feather attachments, in combination with the line and flow of the wand, lend the feathers a flawless combo of weight and motility, allowing them to realistically mimic the movement patterns of live prey. *The bell isn’t too shrill or loud*. I usually take bells off of most toys because they are too annoying, but this is more like the faint chirp of say…a small bird out in the wild!!?!? These also seem incredibly durable, we’ve yet to lose a feather, snap a line, see the integrity of the telescope fail, despite non-stop and often vigorous ambushes!. In every way, these are phenomenal. Kitty leads me to them - or brings them to me - multiple times per day. His sweet, playful, and deep-down-wild-heart has completely fallen for them. ... show more

Great toy for an active and playful kitty. He loves hunting the feathers, and I like that they're natural with no weird dyes. It's held up well so far with some robust play, though he did manage to pull one of the feathers out.

Like many Amazon products I really benefited from other reviews on this item. First of all, a well made item, great that it comes with extra feathers because we all know those won’t last (however these are better than the 3-feather variety from pet store, lots of bright feathers and not ones that seem they’ll go sharp when broken). The wand is a very solid plastic rod with comfy hand grip, little heavier than others but clearly quality. SO GLAD I read other reviewers who spoke of a few sharp hooks or places on product. I immediately found one (above bell, hook area) and wrapped many times with tape. In writing this review I found another place (between bell and feather) where thin wire wrapping ends in a little point, taped that too and hope it wont affect “spin” factor. The point of these toys is you waft around and then pull sharply away and upward at random while kitty reaches and bites at, and I could see a kitty getting cut with these wire edges. The manufacturers should take more care to ensure there are no areas that could hurt kitty. I am hoping good taping over such will remedy but if you’ve ever tried to fix a feather wand (bet I’m not the only one :) you know that if feather doesn’t spin freely the cord becomes a mess. I will test and update review if needed. Now have to play with cat patiently waiting through all this and me carrying wand around. She likes it, great for getting cats to leap, use some energy, and get exercise. If you can figure out how to do from couch it’s a plus lol. ... show more

After using it only a few times it broke and I could no longer attach the feathers :( However, I'm giving it 5 stars because my cats actually prefer it that way.

You know the adage, "you get what you pay for" ? Well the EcoCity Cat Toys is a good example of this. We have a couple of kittens we're fostering so I bought the "affordable" EcoCity Cat Toys. It comes with two wands and some refill toys (Maybe 8? i can't tell). The three kittens (housecats, by the way, not little cougars, lions or ocelot) have already chewed the feathers off 3 of the toys in about a week's time. All the feathers. We're not talking 24/7 play, but maybe 15 minutes a day. The fishing line is thin and tangles easily. The telescoping feature of the wands is pretty worthless. They expand but nothing locks them in place so they slide down so the pole is only about a foot. This is good for tame kittens, but harder to entice a shy kitten with. All in all, the EcoCity Cat Toys do keep the babies entertained but at the rate we've gone through the lures, this product should have a subscribe and save option. ... show more
