  • Charges great and last many hours after sun set.
For those that say the solar panel has no out put if a cloud passes by this is the solution to maintain the pump. so far the panel battery and pump have pumped 20,000 gallons. I used this to pump ou a swimming pool. LOL

  • Great for Nighttime Use, But Sacrifices Power
The media could not be loaded. Setup was easy peasy. Instructions were clear, and the battery came pre-charged, so I was able to use it right away. There’s no indicator for battery level though, so I honestly have no idea how long it takes to fully charge via solar. The only way I know it’s out of power? When the fountain just stops. LOL. I don’t know the exact runtime, but one night we came home around 12:30 AM and the fountain was still going. The flow wasn’t strong, but it was steady like a pee, LOL. My setup uses a PVC pipe to create that effect—no splash, no arc, just a calm, continuous stream. It really adds a peaceful vibe to the garden, like a tiny spring in the background. By 5 AM it’s usually off, so the battery seems to last until sometime between midnight and early morning. That said, it’s nice to hear the water at night when we’re relaxing in the pergola. It gives the space a calm, soothing feel. Here’s the trade-off: without the battery, the fountain is stronger—like noticeably stronger. As soon as the sun hits the panel, the water pressure is great. But it shuts off as soon as the sun sets behind my neighbors tree. With the battery plugged in, it lasts longer into the night, but the flow is weaker—even during the day. I think the panel splits its power between charging the battery and running the pump, so you lose a bit of performance. I added the ECO-WORTHY 16.4 ft extension cord. Game-changer. It lets me mount the solar panel higher up where the sun hits it better, but I can still access the connector easily down below. That’s where I plug in the battery when I want extra hours of runtime. Honestly, if you’re picking between the battery or the extension cord, get the cord first. Better sun placement really helps performance. My routine now? I charge the battery with the wall plug and only use it when we plan to hang out in the garden after sunset. That way, we enjoy full power during the day and keep the vibe going into the evening. So is it worth it? If you want strong water flow during the day and we'll only be hanging out the garden during daytime, skip the battery. If you want longer runtime into the night, buy the battery. Want both? Do what I do—charge the battery separately and plug it in only when needed. Long-term durability? We’ll see. For now, it works for what I need. Also check my video and you'll the fountain runs noticeably stronger when the battery isn’t connected. ... show more

  • Battery back up fails to charge
I purchased the Eco-Worthy Solar Fountain Pump and Battery Back Up in May of this year 2023. The pump and solar panel work fine. However, the battery backup didn't charge from the moment I got it. Amazon did send me a replacement battery and I returned the first one. The second battery backup has now failed to charge in less than 2 months. By failing to charge, I mean you can leave it on the AC charge for days and the green light never comes on. Amazon says it is outside their 30-day return window and can do nothing and messages both phone and chat have not been returned by Eco-Worthy. In the meantime I noticed Eco-Worthy has raised the price on new ones. How Ironic. What ever you do don't buy the battery back up. What a big disappointment! ... show more

  • I'm really glad I added this to my pump
I started out first with just just the 12W pump. I am using it in a bird bath. The pump and solar panel work great- but only when fairly bright sunlight is directly hitting the panel. I guess that should be an obvious limitation of something that is solar, but I still found it a little surprising that it needed such strong light. I then decided to try this battery. My only expectation was that it would keep them pump going when clouds where passing over, or there were brief periods of shade. It did all that- and a lot more. The pump now stars running much earlier in the morning, before it is even getting much direct sun and then it just runs pretty steadily, even on cloudy days. In general- it's just made the pump a whole lot better. I cannot speak to its longevity, because I've only had it a few weeks, but it looks well made. Hopefully it will last. I'm very glad I bought it and would recommend to anyone with this pump. ... show more

  • Worked most of the summer
The battery has worked most of the summer but now it won't turn on the pump once the sun comes back in the morning. I have to unplug and replug the pump from the battery to get the pump to start up again. That's really annoying. The solar panel directly connected works. the sun is shining and the battery is getting charged but it won't send current to the pump until it's reconnected. ... show more

  • Nice battery
Easy to use and holds power well. The solar plane it attaches to could be better but the battery is very functional.

  • Regulates flow and keeps it working when the sun goes away
Without the battery, the pump power fluctuates with the sunlight. At maximum, the flow from the pump was very strong. Almost too strong. With this battery, the flow remains constant, and not excessive. Huge improvement.
