I love the Dot Max. Especially, the different colors are nicešš½. I got the purple š£ one. It sounds crystal š® clear. It fits perfectly in a certain spot next to my Bed šļø. I wish šš½ this one had the time like the others, but it's ok. I know it's coming, š. The features are even better. I like that you can setup easier and the buttons are on the front instead of the top. The cost is not bad at all. It works well with the Alexa+. She's faster than ever and her response is even better. She talks to you like a real person does, wow š³. You're going to love this Dot Max and I highly recommend it. I might get another one š.

The new echo dot max has great sound. And the new integrated AI helps have a better conversational interaction. I have this one in my bathroom. So far do good. The price is reasonable and I enjoy the new voice feature. Side note - This was super easy to set up and the response time more than fast enough.

I was expecting the sound of the Echo Dot Max to be equal or better than the Echo (4th gen). It does not even come close to matching the depth, bass and range of the Echo (4th gen). Alexa+ works amazingly & is very fast with its responses. I appreciate the size and the materials of the Dot Max. It feels as durable as other smart speakers that I've bought from Amazon. Thankfully, I am able to trade-in old devices for credit towards the new one, but I do not think it is worth the price it currently sells for and should be listed for at least $50.

Update after three weeks. Itās going back, Iām returning this device. The slow responses are now 6 seconds to almost 15 seconds, regardless of question or task. I think it didnāt hear me to set a timer, have enough time to ask again and then it tells me I already have a timer. BUT the final straw(s) have been when the device participates in conversations without the wake word. My husband and I are talking or I am talking out loud, the device has, multiple times, offered comment on what was said. No wake word was used, it is constantly listening. That is just too creepy for words. Since it is a device I use for weather, cooking, timer, news, it does not make sense to mute it constantly. In todayās environment, I do not need anything listening to me. Shame on you Amazonā¦.at least put a warning on the box. Againā¦.software engineers need to be re-engaged on this product. Right now the device is do-do and not only not worth the money but serves as a listening device in your home. This product was to replace our 10+ year Alexa who was showing signs of fatigue with slow responses, delays, listening issues and confusion. We did not want a show for the location so purchased this brand new āstate of the artā echo. The new product has slow responses, delays, listening issues and confusion. I am very disappointed in how little update Amazon has put into this product. Only the same wake words are available. Why canāt we decide our own wake words? The voices are AWFUL. You get 6, 3 male and 3 female, and none are really a neutral tone. For some reason Amazon decided we should only have voices with some kind of intonation. Yuck to all of them. Another issue was pairing my new echo with our alexa clock. It should not take 30 minutes and lots of confusion with no clear directions to pair two devices in the same family. It should have been almost instant. Itās getting very old that Amazon keeps increasing the price of their electronic products like echo and kindleā¦SIGNIFICANT price increases but with no real advances in the technology. Similar products in the market are far outpacing Amazon in quality and price. The changes that should be made are software not hardware. Why is it so hard for Amazon to put more effort into to software development for their products? Did Amazon pull a Tesla and fire all their engineers? If this is a product that AI developedā¦ā¦.fire AI. Not sure yet whether we will keep this. Seriously thinking about switching to google. In fact, if you are not already an Alexa/echo family, I suggest you strongly consider google instead of echo. One positive statementā¦I do like the purple color.

I don't have any experience with previous models of the Dot, so I can't really judge the audio quality based on past iterations. I know some people have said the sound depth is not as good. I am also not an audiophile, so... the sound is amazing to my ear! It achieves great volume, I listen to music through the Dot and it all sounds great to me. Using the Alexa app, it's super easy to connect all kinds of products. The microphone pics me up when I am not loud, so I don't have to yell at Alexa. I also paired the Dot with some bluetooth headphones, and no issues there. The one big feature I bought this for was to connect my fire TV to the Dot as a speaker. Surprisingly, that is not a feature that is live yet. They say it will be released this year, so I hope so. It seems kind of trivial to use the Dot as a speaker for another device, but what do I know? Anyway, I love the product and have no regrets. And the color is so nice (I got the amethyst). I am debating getting another one to have stereo sound, but also not sure I care enough about that in my small space. The audio is already very good, and I think I'd have to have more space to separate the speakers for that to be worth it.

For a small speaker, the Echo Dot Max delivers surprisingly good, clear audio, which is a nice step up from the latest standard Echo Dot. Beyond the sound, though, I don't see the advantage; the new Alexa+ smart features feel identical to the previous version, offering no revolutionary changes. Given the incremental improvements, the premium price is hard to justify for anything other than the audio bump.
