  • Easy to Use
Color: Black
I picked up this solar panel mainly to pair with my power station for weekend camping and occasional off-grid use. After about a month of using it outdoors, I’m impressed with how practical and reliable it’s been. it is very easy to carry. When folded, it’s quite compact, and at around 10 lbs, it’s light enough to grab with one hand. The magnetic handle is a nice touch—it keeps everything neatly closed and makes it feel more like carrying a small briefcase than a piece of gear. It fits easily in my car trunk without taking up much space, which is great for trips. Build quality feels solid. The ETFE surface combined with the laminated design gives it a durable, slightly textured finish. I’ve used it in the wild for over a month now—setting it on gravel, dirt, and grass—and it still looks almost new, with no obvious scratches. The IP65 rating is reassuring too. I’ve had it out in light rain and morning dew, and it handled everything without any issues. Charging performance has been better than I expected for a portable panel. On a clear day around noon, with the panel tilted at about 45 degrees, I usually see around 70–90W going into my power station. That tilt definitely helps—I’ve noticed it can be about 20% more efficient than just laying it flat. Even on cloudy days or during winter, I still get around 30–60W, which is enough to keep essentials like phones, tablets, LED lights, and even a small fan running. It’s also great for slowly topping up the power station throughout the day. Compatibility is another plus. It comes with a variety of DC connectors, so I didn’t have to buy any extra cables. It works seamlessly with my EBL power station, and I’ve also tried it with a friend’s unit from another brand without any issues. That flexibility makes it really convenient if you’re not tied to one ecosystem. The built-in kickstands are simple and easy to use, helping you angle the panel toward the sun. That said, they are a bit narrow, so on windy days the panel can feel a little unstable. I usually place a couple of rocks on the corners or secure it somehow, and that solves the problem. ... show more

  • Worked with my EcoFlow (with an adapter) with great results
Color: Black
If you have a small portable battery that you take on the road, you may be looking for a portable solution that could keep it charged. If you have a stationary position for some time, this solar panel could keep you charged up and ready to go. UPDATE: With some patience and understanding of the optimal angles of the sun during the day, I was able to show 84w from this panel. Keep in mind, that is during peak hours of 11am - 1pm but it can get you there. I've continued to be really happy with this panel. Keep in mind that the 100w rating is under optimal conditions. Expect to get about 80w out of the panel. The panel is pretty well made with a nylon shell and a textured plastic coating for the solar panel. The handles are plastic with a magnetic clasp that keeps the panel closed when folded. There are grommets in each corner of you want to hang the panel. If you want to just set the panel on the ground, there are fold out legs that are held in place with hook and loop. Everything feels very durable. There's a zippered compartment that holds the attached cable with MC4 connectors. It fits the included adapter as well but not much else. The included adapter works with several brands of portable batteries but check the documentation first to find out if it will connect to your battery. I needed to buy an adapter for my battery but it very affordable. In afternoon sun I was able to get about 72w out of the panel. I was able to get 25% charged for my 256Wh battery in an hour. I did get better results putting this up on an easel but it worked well on the ground too. You have to test different angles given your location to get an optimal result. There are included, clear instructions which I found included information on connecting more than one panel in series or parallel of you have more than one panel. Do your research before connecting more than one panel to your battery. The next time I go camping, I can use my battery at night with the assurance that I can charge it back up via the sun during the day. It folds down to a manageable size and is portable as advertised. Check your battery first before attaching any solar panel but it worked well with my EcoFlow River 2. I'm very happy that this works for my needs! ... show more

  • I expected more from EBL
Color: Black
Thes EBL 100W solar panels fell short of my expectations. EBL has a reputation for producing quality products, but this time took some shortcuts and as a result put an inferior product on the market. The Positives: 1. The pouch containing the power cables was of a nice size which easily accommodated the cables and had a little more room for some other hardware. 2. The panel weighed only 8.4 lbs which is about 1-2 lb less than most panels in this class. 3. The cables were rated at 16 AWG which is normal for quality solar panels. The Negatives: 1. The panel support legs were way too short and did not allow me to angle the panels properly in order to maximize the solar capture for winter conditions. One photo shows how the legs are about four inches too short. I had to prop up the legs with two 2x4s to get a better angle, but this makes it very inconvenient. 2. The panels curve a bit, and are not straight like most competitor panels. This may not affect the amount of solar capture, but leads one to believe that the construction is inferior. 3. I compared the amount of wattage produced by the EBL panel and another 100W panel which were both exposed to the same clear sun conditions in the middle of the day at 36 degrees. The EBL panel was only able to produce a maximum of 80W while the other panel cranked out 94W. The EBL significantly under-performed. Overall even at the reasonable current price including the coupon of $90 I can't recommend this panel. It seems that EBL took some shortcuts in order to save on production cost, and ended up with something not so attractive to the consumer. There are better choices out there for the money. ... show more
