This works...let’s start there. When you first apply it, your edges are laid, neat, and looking like you really took your time. It gives that clean finish that pulls a whole look together. But over time, depending on your hair type and the day you’re having, it may not stay exactly the same all day. It’s not terrible, just not that “locked in forever” hold. I have 4c low porosity hair. Ebin is the only quality edge control that holds my hair although not all day. . The smell is nice. I rated a 3 only because it does dry quickly but turn white when it dries, but I have gray hair, so it works fine for me. Thats the down side. But paired with a gel and oil sheen, it looks nice. This is my new fav edge control. I usually test them by wearing it to the gym and though my edges weren’t the same after, they were still pretty much in tact. To be fair, I do pretty intense workouts. The only one that has lasted all the way through is the gorilla snot and earwax and that one has a little TOO much hold. I love the way Ebin smells and I do not necessarily have to use a scarf to get it to stay, though it does last longer when I lay it down. In my hair it does turn white, but a little bit of hair spray is a quick and easy solution to that. For context, I have natural hair that is 3c. On the other hand, my girlfriend has locked 4c hair. She has trouble with keeping her edges slicked down, but she used some of my Ebin during a recent vacation and just asked me where I got this from. It did not turn white in her hair. I guess it just varies from person to person but, again, just a little hair spray should get rid of that. I wasn’t initially going to buy this but I was looking at the maya double sided edge control brushes (which I apply this with) after the little $1 one I got from the beauty supply store broke.
