  • Great Jazz Reeds!
My son is majoring in music and plays very seriously. We usually buy Vandoren and Legere reeds. When these popped up, I thought, what the heck? Let me tell you, these guys play extremely well, hold their shape quite nicely (not prone to warping) and sound excellent. I ordered 3s and I would say they're comparable to a Vandoren 3. Maybe a touch firmer than a comparable Rico, but not too much. Very nice. ... show more

  • They work!
Size: 2.5 Color: Traditional
Its been awhile since I've pulled out the old alto saxophone and I've had the itch to play it. These reeds aren't the cheapest option available nor the most expensive, they're a good middle ground. I've done marching band, wind ensembles, played in a quartet, jazz bands, and participated in school concerts. That being said I've got some well rounded experience in the music world and have used many different types & brands of reeds. These are overall pretty good and hard to beat at this price point, they get the job done and work. Give them a try! P.S. - My main use for them now is playing at home and enjoying the music for myself. ... show more

  • Decent reeds
These are decent saxophone reeds. They came in a ten pack, so they should last quite some time. They're obviously not top of the line, but for playing at home or school like we do, I think they will be just fine.

  • These do the job
Have a sax that’s been sitting around because I couldn’t remember to get reeds for it. These are good, the quality and sound are good, and they work fine.

  • Good solid reeds.
These EastRock Jazz Alto Saxaphone reeds are natural cane and it shows with the patterns on the outside and the random spots. That makes no difference in the reed's performance. These are not high dollar reeds, but they are plenty good enough for outdoor performances or practice or even performing in some situations (school, etc...). I am giving them five stars though because of the value they represent. These are reeds that you can just put on your saxophone and play and they are priced very reasonably. I would recommend these for someone starting out or looking for solid practice reeds. As you can see from the pictures, the cut is good and the quality is fine. ... show more

  • Good, playable, inexpensive reed.
Natural cane reeds are rarely perfect. Often, even with a premium brand, you'll either trim a reed into shape or toss it altogether if it fails to measure up. What I find with these: they're usable from the box. I don't need to do anything with them except play. I think they're best for practice. At least, I save my better reeds for that. There's also something to be said for playing the same reed/mouthpiece combo until you've mastered it. Regardless of what you choose, these are decent reeds. ... show more
