The set came very well packaged. No damage due to shipping. Looks very nice. It will really help to have a cordless drill with the appropriate hex tip (4 mm) to assemble the chairs. The little Allen keys they provide work, but on some of the screws there is not enough room to make a full rotation with the key, so it requires LOTS of removing and refitting (I used the supplied Allen key for one chair before switching to a cordless drill—only using the key for final tightening). Both table and chairs are heavy and feel solid. I am hopeful the table will not begin to sag in the middle when extended, as did the last table I had with the same drop-down/fold-under center leaf design. My biggest concern is that the finish seems “delicate.” A slight bump on one of the table lags and the finish is already marred and showing the lighter colored wood beneath. As others have mentioned, I have been unable to find cushions to fit so am making do with some that are not deep enough. (Perhaps the company could make their own or suggest some that fit.) It is also not possible to push the chairs all the way in without them hitting each other under the table—this is true with six chairs and the table collapsed as well as with eight chairs and the table expanded. ... show more

I have searched years for a sturdy table that doesn't clash with my decor and I've had it a few months now so here goes...Delivery was quick and painless (better than the last store I ordered from). Nothing was damaged and everything was assembled within 2 hours of arrival (took two strong people to flip it). It's solid wood, so it's heavy and sturdy. I have a friend who wouldn't sit in my last chairs bc they weren't sturdy enough, but they even like them! The leaf is attached under the table & I love how it folds out! Unsnap the two halves, pull apart, lift & unfold (be sure to get the side pieces) and snap it back together. Table and chair height are good. Several people over 6 feet have been over and their legs don't hit the table. THE CONS: table scratches easily (thin, barely noticeable, covered/protected with table cloth) and I have yet to find chair cushions that fit. This table and 8 chairs was put together by two people in about 2 hours total. All parts are heavy and sturdy. It feels substantial. Nice table, it did have a chip in the top due to shipping damage but not a big deal. Overall very nice.

Table and chairs are great. Very sturdy. We love the fact that we can expand the table when needed. Took about an hour to assemble the table and six chairs. Set was packaged well and arrived with no damage. Delivery service was very good. Called the day before scheduled delivery to narrow the delivery window down to a three hour period.
