This is a very nice anvil. The casting is precise with no voids, the top is well finished, and the hardie hole is close enough to an inch to be compatible with many of my other tools. The rebound is approximately 90% which is impressive. I wish the horn wasn't painted but it only took a few minutes to dress with a angle grinder flap wheel. I like this anvil so much that I ordered the 30 pounder for my work bench anvil.

Really good starter anvil, takes blows significantly better than a cast iron, and makes forging much faster and easier. Comes with a pritchel and a decent hardy. All around good piece of steel.

Better then Emerson as it is harder and the edges are at 90 degrees with slight radius. Emerson is too happy with their angle grinders and flap disks. Holds up well to general forging over the face. The face is not perfect as there are waves from the machining but they are so very small and can only be felt with the fingernail and the reflection of light. The rule over the face reveals a nice straight face from wider to length. Emerson the anvil has lows and highs and is uneven. I never tested the horn with drawing out as of yet. But for general use for either hobby use or a professional who wants a portable size that still has weight, this is a good buy for the price. Not smooth as a jeweler’s anvil, but unless you are forging brass and silver and even gun parts, there is no reason to complain. It does what I want it to do, it moves metal under the hammer, the finish of the face is reasonably well for the price. I think the Chinese did a good job on this one and has some American anvil makers put to shame with finish and even quality if this holds up in the long run. Yes I would buy again and do indeed recommend.

It feels sturdy, it is heavy and seems of great quality no cracks, rough edges or any indications of that it was cheaply manufactured. I am a beginner blacksmith so I can't really say anything on what I think it will be like in the long run but for the short time I've had it , it absolutely holds up to expectation

I wasn't sure what to expect from a mail order anvil, & admit I'm very impressed! Fine rebound & ping with a large unique tabletop, allowing me even more versatility in my shop projects.
