I realize that these guides are generally intended for lighter duty, indoors, but because of the cost, I decided to try a pair for my hangar doors. I lagged them into concrete. They guide the narrow (1 1/2") side of a 2x4 without issue. Turns out that they're sturdy enough to work properly, and I don't anticipate them failing anytime soon. Maybe the lubrication of the wheels may be an issue after a few years, but I'll keep an eye on that. ... show more

For best results pre-drill your holes. I wish there was a shorter version of this set but this was the best I could find. I felt the length would be a tripping hazard for my application. The hardware is tough for a heavy door but mine was light weight so I didn’t need the included bracket. I kept the wheel, which are basic and cheaply made, and went to Lowe’s where I found a smaller bracket. I painted it black and used the wheels from this set. It worked for me. The wheels do not have bearings they spin bare in the screw so who knows how long it will last. ... show more

Solid product and very versatile. The barn door hardware came with the blade floor guide that has to have a groove in the bottom of the door to work. I didn’t have a router to make the groove and using the circular saw to make it had obvious drawbacks. I bought this and am very happy with it.

When installing you take the rollers off and you leave the bottom nut on the floor under the piece you screw in so that you can screw it in after you’ve installed the wall bracket. I know that’s confusing, but there are no instructions. Take your time and fiddle with it before installing. :-) It would have been nice if the big rollers rolled, were rubber, or had felt on the door side because it scratched the paint on the front of my door.
