This made adding banisters so much easier! It looks cleaner and more professional. Easy to use. Seems sturdy enough. They are a thick plastic, so I'll be curious to see how long they actually last.

Sturdy and easy to install. Not quite sure if the screws will rust in the rain or not. Only time will tell. These brackets snuggly fit normal 2x4's. Pressure treated 2x4's need shaving down to fit these brackets. Would also like to see more than two screws attaching the bracket to the lumber ends. Update a year later, all the screws rusted. Had to replace all the screws with stainless.

We've been working in some decking repairs and it was time to tackle the stairs and railings. Originally installed 20 years ago and the railing was just 2x4s with ballusters nailed to them. Not tearing it all out - just needed to replace a couple of rotted components, so needed it to go back together the same way, and wanted something a little easier and more secure than just toe-screwing them into the posts. These worked great. for the rails I replaced, these screw onto the ends of the rails and them you can screw them right into the posts; for a repair where I just wanted to give it a bit more security/hold, I tapped them onto the rail and then screwed those in. Either way, they look decent, have improved the security of the mounting. They cost about a $1.25 a piece and seem well worth it.

This deck railing kit made mounting railings easy. Not any directions to follow and made one mistake in mounting the bracket first to the railing first and than to post next. I mounted the bracket to post first and railing next. I had to toenailed (screwed) the railing which if I mounted the bracket to railing I wouldn’t need the toenail. Lots of brackets, screws to finish any small deck. Amazon delivered fast and priced good, but again for sure.
