🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Eflite RC plane has garnered positive feedback for its flying capabilities, particularly its ease of use for not absolute beginners but those with a bit of flying experience. Reviewers praise its high standard of assembly, optional features like leading edge slats, and the variety of compatible transmitters. Its flight time and resilience to minor crashes have been highlighted, with recommendations leaning towards intermediate flyers due to its fragility in harsh conditions. A notable point of contention is its durability, with one review stating parts fell off before use, suggesting a potential inconsistency in quality.

Pros

  • 🛩 Comes assembled with optional features for customization.
  • 🔋 Compatible with various battery sizes for longer flight times.
  • 🎮 Supports different transmitters with easy binding.
  • ✈️ Praised for STOL capabilities and indoor/outdoor versatility.
  • 🎚 Offers advanced flying aids like stabilization for inexperienced pilots.

Cons

  • ⚠️ Not suitable for absolute beginners, with recommendations for intermediate levels.
  • 🌬 Sensitive to wind, requiring calmer conditions for optimal flying.
  • ❄️ Some parts may fall off, raising concerns about build quality.
  • 🛠 Fragility mentioned, noting a potential for damage upon hard impacts.

Should I Buy It?

If you have some experience with RC planes and are looking for an intermediate model that supports customization, offers good flight control aids, and can handle both indoor and outdoor environments, this could be a great fit. However, if you are an absolute beginner or need a plane that can withstand rough treatment, you might want to consider other options.

  • Great plane! Okay Using a Radiomaster transmitter
When you buy a Eflite plane you are buy up to a good standard. The optional leading edge slats come with the plane and I did install them. The plane comes assembled (other than the optional slats). Radiomaster transmitter: no bind plug needed. Safe or safe off should programmed on channel 5. (Actually it's Safe on and AS3X on). I used a slider for the flaps and mixed-in 35% down elevator for full flaps. Don't think I will be using any more than 50% flaps. I have already maidened the plane (flying great with some minor trim adjustments needed). Mechanically adjusted the elevator for 1mm down elevator a little bit more than a eyeball level when looking at the elevator surface. Binding was a snap: DMX and then set to auto before binding (on the radiomaster). Bought two 300mah batteries and get about 6minutes flight time I got the lipo battery that has the balance plug, Eflite ph2.0 connector and also has a jst plug as well (this makes it a little bit more versatile). Ordered a 450mah to test flight times: this is a very light plane, so every gram you add weighs down the plane, and produces less flight time.. so be careful of this tradeoff! As always center of gravity is extremely important so balance you plane with battery positioning!!! PS: loving this plane (it's my second plane (first was an Eflite Apprentice). Don't recommend this for your first plane!!!!!! ... show more

  • Great RC plane for advanced beginner to intermediate to expert pilots
After 2 months: Like the plane better and better. I am an advanced beginner and can only fly the plane in very low wind and large open spaces. I've flown the plane about 6 times with about 50 landings with no significant crashes or damage. I have to use full stabilization but hope to fly without it soon. My son is an intermediate expert and flew the plane withouth stabilization and did amazing aerobatics including hovering and inverted flight in my 50 foot backyard and in and around nearby bushes without significant crashes or damage. My only complaint is that the plane should be more durable. That is generally true of almost all RC planes and is not specific to this model. After 1 week: Well designed durable plane. Less than 130 grams and high thrust lets intermediate to advanced pilots fly it in small parks or indoors in gyms, or maybe even in a large living room. Turning on safe select automatically levels plane after a maneuver, so advanced beginners can fly it in medium sized parks with no wind conditions. Plane is very light so winds over about 2-4 MPH require more skill. Plane cruises nicely at lowest power settings. High thrust enables vertical climb and 3D aerobatics for more advanced pilots. ... show more

  • Not a beginner plane like the box says BUT not very difficult to fly!
This is truly the perfect second RC airplane! If you can takeoff and land with your trainer then you are ready for this plane. You'll really enjoy the flops and the low speeds. The STOL is amazing! 8-12' of dirt to get airborne is all that's needed. Stay in SAFE mode a while and flip it off, practice and if you get into trouble flip it back on or hit the panic button. It's a very well made plane with all the whistles! With a spectrum transmitter you can read battery life while flying. This is a great little plane! Don't fly when there's more than 5knots of wind when learning ... show more

  • Best easiest plane to fly
Buy it. Dont listen to the reviews saying its weak or poor quality. I have helicopters, planes, etc, and this plane is easy to fly, has cool lights, and flies and lands so easily. The landing gear has alot of cushion, so when you land it, it does NOT bounce. It makes me look like a pro every time. It just sucks up the landing and stick it. Multiple flights so far, and it can also handle decent wind and I'm not that great at flying. Plus the stabilizing system makes every movement smoothe. ... show more

  • Extremely cheaply made
I bought two and neither have been used a single time. Both has a part fall off before even used.

  • Portable FUN. Fragile. Not for first timers.
Fun to fly. I’d recommend beginners starting off with something less powerful. You will crash this if you try your luck and take it off safe mode if you are a beginner. Otherwise, safe mode does end up being a good “save” button and when things are a bit sketchy (wind). Very, very fragile. Easy to sync up to an Rx. The recommended 280 batteries don’t have enough juice, I’d recommend 300-430mah. Definitely make sure to have at least 2-4 extra batteries, a voltage checker and foam safe super glue on hands at all times. This thing can do flips rolls etc and also fly super slow and land like a feather. The flaps haven’t been very helpful and will make you crash. Always take off into the wind and land into the wind!!! I love this thing so much I’d buy another. ... show more

  • Great little park flyer. A lot of fun and easy to replace parts if need be.
I put a 1000 mah battery in it and it gets 20+ min of flight. It is more resistant to wind with the extra bit of weight too. I plan to also put a small camera on it. A lot of fun to mess around with. Plenty of power.

  • Nice plane but NOT tolerant of crashes
This is a very sophisticated and beautiful flying model. Very powerful and capable. The plane has excellent handling capabilities and technology to help make flying easier. this plane does everything it can to help you fly it but it is not tolerant of anything other than very slow and minor mishaps. You cannot make hard contact with anything and expect it to survive. Keep SAFE on until you are very comfortable with the speed and handling. ... show more
