I live on a farm, so when someone say that a purse made out of straw is almost 300 bucks, I have to check it out. Just think of the luxury bedding my goats and other animals sleep on. :O) I didn't know I was that rich. :O) Needless to say that when I first opened the package I was expecting the barn smell to whaft up my nostrils. WAS I EVER MISTAKEN! You see, I have 5 daughters (One out of the house and working, 3 teenagers and a year and a half year old) and a wife whose tastes run to hers (their mothers) exotic/high end will stand for nothing less.. I guess they have great taste (expensive bloody taste but great taste non-the-less.) Anyway, when I opened the package I had a pleasant "new leather smell" (from the handles and base) and not the musty barn. The leather was soft and supple, the straw just-as-such the same. I need to see how they do that so that the animals can wrap themselves in luxury also :O) The Quality of the bag is second to none! I mean this kate spade new york Women's Deco Fine Grain Leather Small Tulip Tote looks, feels and smells every penny of the price. The size is not too small but also not a huge suitcase I see some women haul around. The color is a light straw and the hardware is a fine Matt Gold fixtures. Definitely take a close look at all of the aspects of this bag/tote. I think you will be as impressed as I was. Recommendation... I think that goes without saying. Ladies, one word of advise.. don't tell your significant other what you are going to pay for this as that person is just as likely to look at it initially the way I did. ... show more

Absolutely love this purse! It is even prettier in person than the photo depicts. First, it arrives wrapped like a mummy, not a single piece of the purse was not covered with foam of some type. The bottom of the purse sits inverted and the interior reflects that as a raised area on the inside of the purse, stamped with the KATE SPADE logo. It is a light weight purse in a honey straw color, soft and skin friendly, for carrying necessities when out and about. The weave is perfect in my opinion. Perfect for my cell phone, wallet, keys and a few accessories. There are leather covered magnets at the top interior, that easily attach to keep the contents concealed. It has adjustable holes for the handles and the included shoulder strap. So you can hand carry, shoulder carry, over the body strap carry, whatever suits your mood for the day. The leather trim and shoulder strap in a cream white with a brown contrast gives it glam. Stitching is impeccable everywhere. There is a tiny cloth black ace of spades attached to the side interior of the purse and a date at the bottom. The leather strap easily attaches, and is completely removable when not needed. The icing on the cake is the included dust bag with the Kate Spade logo. There is a gold Kate Spade/New York buckle, shaped like an envelope, prominently displayed on the hand carry strap. ... show more

This is a beautiful straw and creamy leather purse from Kate Spade. I really loved the leather versions so when I saw this straw one, as we head into spring and summer, I figured I'd choose it for my 2026 summer bag I could tell from the promos that it was not lined, but under the materials and care in the promos it said lining = Faille. Well, I'm guessing that only applies to the leather versions of this bag. So the fact that it is not lined means a zipper is not installed and there are no inner pockets to put things in. It's just like an open bag with a small magnetic closure at the top that is not overly secure. If you hang the purse empty from the crossbody straps (as shown in one of my photos) it tips on it's side, so when I first got it I felt like all my items would fall out of it. But I will say that once you put items into the purse it hangs more balanced and is less likely to tip. But again without a zipper closure I feel a little more vulnerable to items falling out. But I still very much like the look of this bag, including the little gold metal clasp on the handle on one side. It is on the smaller size, so you can't fit too much. But it does hang on the body well if you are going to use the crossbody straps. What I've decided is that I have to corral my items into small bags before I put them into the purse. So loose items that are in other purses that I use, I simply have to put them into a small carry pouches and then put them into this purse. That way I don't have little things falling out. I do think that $298.00 for this bag without the lining and zipper is not the best value when some of the leather lined versions with a zipper are going for $196.80, One last comment is that this does provide a beautiful high end neutral canvas if you have charms that you like. I have a tassel that I love and it looks great on this purse. So I praise this bag for it's looks but I had to take off one star for functionality and price. ... show more

I got this Kate Spade tote and I’m really happy with it so far! The size is small- and feels pretty lightweight (I got the straw option which is very light in comparison to the leather bag), but still roomy enough to carry my daily essentials without feeling cramped. The straw feels really nice and looks very natural and goes great with spring and early summer looks. I also love the shape of the bag, it’s simple but a little unique, which makes it easy to dress up or use every day or for events. It comes with an additional long strap too which is a nice option. It’s been a great go-to bag that feels both practical and a bit elevated. I will Definitely love using as a seasonal rotation! ... show more
