Description

The SNAPDOWN 3 wrestling shoe is designed for middle school and intermediate wrestling competitors. A reliable wrestling style that's built to stand up to the rigorous demands throughout the season, this shoe is constructed with stitch down overlays and mesh underlays that deliver advanced airflow to help feet breathe during matches. The kimono tongue inspiration provides a better foothold and an improved fit, while the shoelace garage assists in keeping laces tied and concealed. The design of the outsole encourages better traction on mat surfaces, featuring a unique pattern that implements a series of circular shapes that are made to improve grip when the foot is planted.

  • Good medium duty weightlifting shoe
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black/Gunmetal
I bought these after looking at and trying almost all the weightlifting shoes on the market. Most of the ones you'll find have a 1.5" to 2.0" heel on them to allow for an easier position with the shin to get to a low bar squat position. However, those types of shoes feel like wearing platforms when you go to deadlift heavy. So, after looking around, I got some advice on using the Do-Win classics which look like an excellent shoe if you want to go really heavy, like powerlifting heavy. However, I'm an older lifter who just wants to stay flexible and stave off the old man with the scythe for as long as possible. Which brings me to these shoes, they are snug if you get them to your correct shoe size which takes me back to wrestling in school when the last thing you wanted to do was to catch a toe on the mat when performing moves. They have leather uppers which will mold to your foot just like the Do-Wins. Also, I think these are more substantial on your foot than the minimalist shoes out there. They have no heel to toe drop so you'll need to be a little more flexible when going down into a low bar squat, but when you get used to them, they give you more confidence than bare foot squats. And for the deadlift, these shoes are awesome! They promote the part the of the deadlift where you are settling back into your heels and starting the pull after setting the back. Since I haven't used these for weightlifting for more than a week, I cannot give an accurate gauge on durability. ... show more

  • Asics Snapdown 3 vs. Adidas HVC
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Black/Gunmetal
I sized up by 1 like a lot of reviews said too for the Asics Snapdown 3 to a size 10.5 wide. I think Asics may have fixed the sizing issue for the Black/Gunmetal colorway. The Adidas HVC are a 9.5 and noticeably shorter and narrower. I returned the Asics 10.5 Wide for a pair in size 9.5 Wide. The ball of my foot is fairly wide. In the Adidas my pinky toe and outer metatarsal completely hung over the sole. It was really noticeable when walking on a hard surface, but barely noticeable on the mats since the sole is thin and the mats have a lot of give. Even if you have narrow feet I think most peoples pinky would still hang off of the side. No ones foot is as narrow and pointy as the soles on these. There was a very noticeable pressure point in my outer toes. I didn't keep these shoes so I'm not sure if they would stretch and break in to be comfortable. The fit of the Asics reminded me of my New Balance Minimus Trail V1 shoes. They're snug so your foot doesn't move around, but don't create any pressure points. They had a real glove like feel. The rubber on the Asics is stickier than the Adidas and wraps further up the side. The Adidas may be nice if you're knee sliding a lot. I also liked the shoelace pouch more than the Velcro. the Velcro on the Adidas is only about .5"x.5" so you may want to tape over it to reduce the risk of it coming undone during training. ... show more

  • Decent wrestling footwear
Size: 11 Wide Color: Black/Gunmetal
Its not the footwear that increases performance, it's the athlete. Im hoping to get at least a season out of them, if not theyll become practice room shoes.

  • Purchase a shoehorn in order to put these shoes on easily.
Size: 8 Color: Black/Gunmetal
They fit really snug. If you have a wide foot, you may want to consider buying a pair a half size larger. Also, the best way to get these on is with a shoehorn. Amazon sells a good one that has a telescoping handle for around 10 dollars. It's well worth it. I wear them for working out in the gym. I get a lot of compliments on them. I really like them. ... show more

  • Good shoe
Size: 11 Wide Color: Black/Gunmetal
We originally got the Matflex but they were too narrow for both my boys and only one of them has wide feet. So I went with these and they fit well and are comfortable. The only thing I dislike is that the tongue is like attached to one side of the shoe. Aside from that good flexibility, good quality. ... show more
