  • Great UMX airplane at decent price.
Style: PNP Plug-N-Play
Yet another great RC aircraft from Eflite. This can be a great beginner airplane because of the Safe and AS3X modes. For the experienced RC Pilot this is a blast because this plane has flaps and can do rolls, loops, high alpha ,Stol take offs and landings. It has wonderful Led Navigational Lights and other features that make the UMX Turbo Timber outstanding for its price, I even bought one for my family. Awesome RC airplane. ... show more

Easy of assembly, good flight characteristics. Will allow you to learn 3D flying without spending alot of money or spending alot of assembly time.

  • Great STOL and 3D plane...
Style: BNF Bind-N-Fly Basic
Super plane to fly on 4S. It can go from mild (STOL) to wild (3D flying) and can even be upgraded with floats for flying on/off of water (like a small lake, etc.). Pretty durable but buy some Foam-Tac for repairs when needed.

  • Terribly weak landing gear, but flys amazing
Style: BNF Bind-N-Fly Basic
Don’t get me wrong it’s an extremely awesome plane and this one is way better in muiktioke way than the regular timber x. it has motor braking so when the throttle is off it stops the prop from spinning increasing its gliding efficiency. the lights are freaking awesome and very bright at night. HOWEVER the landing gear will rip out or crack even on just a bouncy landing. It really sucks I find myself glueing it together every other flight. They really need to reconsider their construction of landing gear. And it’s a bottom loader. ... show more

  • Arrived damaged/received replacement. YAY!
Style: BNF Bind-N-Fly Basic
This is an update to my original post. I finally got a replacement for the Night Timber X that had arrived damaged and have flown it several times since then. Flies great and the night lights are freaking awesome. I have to agree with the reviewer that commented about the weak landing gear. I have had the same issue and since the gear mount is factory glued into the airframe, there isn’t much left to glue once they begin to repeatedly fail under what I would consider far less of a hard landing than they should be able to deal with. The spring loaded bush plane gear are a great thing A’s also the balloon tires, but if the gear mount fails prior to the spring mechanism actually doing what it is designed to do, it is a poor design. Which brings me to my second (and last) issue. The propeller for this plane is so brittle that I have broken three or maybe even four at this point. I mean, I literally landed on the skinned infield of a baseball field and just as it was rolling to a stop the prop nicked the turf grass edge and wham, bits and pieces everywhere. Another broke while attempting to take off on a grass field, which was very closely cropped, much like a golf fairway, and the wheels just wouldn’t roll thru it and I nosed it over way before getting close to takeoff speed. Same result, lots of tiny pieces of plastic all over the place. I assume I am not the only person with this issue as the replacement props are back ordered and have been for several months. Beyond those issues, the plane is a gas to fly, takes off very quickly (though I recommend a paved surface) and the night LED lights are super sweet. I don’t dislike it enough to not buy a couple more for my sons at this point. So we have a small squadron of four with all of us mobbing the sky over the local park which is great fun. ... show more

  • Total dud
Style: BNF Bind-N-Fly Basic
This plane was a dud!!! First flight it flew for about 30 seconds then spiraled downward uncontrollably and crashed. Fixed the plane, new prop and I was back in business! Not… Same thing, about 30 seconds into the flight and the same deal, spiraled into the ground. Fixed the fuselage/cowl and engine mount and wings and tried again figuring it was a transmitter issue. Wouldn’t you guess it did the same thing.. spiraled to the ground and splashed into a pond. Had to take a swim to get it but the landing gear is now ripped off the fuselage.. Seems like the receivers are causing the problem.. once it’s fixed, AGAIN, I’ll swap in a new receiver and hope for the best. My EFlite Valiant is much more durable and built better even for how much cheaper it is. The Night Timber is a hot pile of garbage and EFlite should be aware of the issues that others are also experiencing with their night timber planes.. Please read other reviews on this item!! ... show more
