I ordered this because I recently picked up a used Dyson Airwrap™ i.d. multi-styler, and it came with barely any attachments, so I’ve been slowly filling in the gaps with the ones I know I’ll actually use. Since my hair is longer, I specifically wanted something designed for that length, and I tend to reach for looser, bouncier curls more often than tighter ringlets for everyday styling. The 1.6” long barrel felt like the right fit for giving me that softer, more voluminous look while still keeping things polished. One of the biggest reasons I stuck with the actual Dyson attachment is that I did not want to gamble on fit or performance. With styling tools like this, off-brand options can be really hit-or-miss, and I wanted something that would attach properly, feel secure, and actually perform the way it should. This fits my Airwrap i.d. perfectly, locks in exactly the way it should, and feels just like an original part of the system rather than some random add-on. Performance-wise, this does exactly what I wanted it to do. The larger barrel creates softer, looser curls and waves that feel more effortless and bouncy on my longer hair. I really like that this re-engineered version lets me switch between clockwise and counterclockwise curls with the rotating cool tip instead of swapping barrels, because it just makes styling feel smoother and less annoying. It cuts down on the constant switching and makes the whole process feel more efficient. The airflow feels just as consistent and controlled as my other Dyson attachments, and it still gives that smooth, polished finish that makes the Airwrap so appealing in the first place. It absolutely feels like a genuine extension of the tool rather than an afterthought. Summary: This ended up being a really worthwhile addition to my slowly growing Airwrap collection. I wasn't exactly sure why this was a better Airwrap barrel for me other than it's longer and I was hoping it would take care of frizzy ends better since it could deal with the length of my hair better. So that is true. Really better at getting those ends wrapped around so my curls go all the way to the ends. But that's not all (I feel like an infomercial here). The REAL game changer is no more dance of the barrels. You no longer have to switch barrels when you want to change the direction of the curl!!!! WHY wasn't that the first sentence on the product page? BIG selling point for me. And then, having thought maybe I was dreaming, I did one side of my hair with the standard barrel that came with my Airwrap and the other with this new barrel, and the curls are actually different, or at least mine are. The older barrel gives a tighter curl, the new barrel gives a long beach-wave type curl. To me, this is worth forking over another $40 to Dyson. Definitely recommend, unless you don't mind switching barrels and manually wrapping the last couple of inches. If you have short hair, I don't think there will be much benefit to getting this new barrel.

This attachment fits my Airwrap perfectly! I ordered this one specifically because I have a pretty full lineup of attachments, but the curling barrels I had before give just a bit too tight of a curl for a soft, everyday look. This size is perfect for adding texture and volume without tight curls. I have a medium-long, thick/dense hair type and love how this makes styling easy, especially the rotation feature, meaning I don't have to switch attachments back and forth. I have tried some of the generic attachments, and they're fine, but nothing beats the performance and quality of the actual Dyson parts, and this one convinced me that for any attachments in the future, I'll go straight to the actual Dyson branded ones. This barrel is lightweight enough that it adds very little to my travel case. The rosé color tip doesn't exactly match my Airwrap, but it still looks pretty, and the important part is that it doesn't get super hot and therefore provides heat protection for my fingers without the need to awkwardly wear a glove while styling. Yes, the actual Dyson parts are pricier than the generics, but for the fit, durability, and performance, they are well worth the investment.

I have long, waist-length hair, and this type of curling tool works really well for creating loose waves and soft curls without a lot of effort. The rotating feature makes it much easier to handle long sections of hair. It’s especially good for a more relaxed, everyday look rather than tight curls. Larger barrels and curlers like this tend to create softer waves rather than defined ringlets, which is exactly what I was going for. The main advantage of this tool is how quick and beginner-friendly it is. It helps eliminate some of the workout you have to usually endure to style long hair. That said, of course you give up a little control compared to a standard curling iron, so the curls aren’t always perfectly uniform, but blow drying in waves is pretty excellent Overall, this is a great option if you want easy, loose waves and have longer hair. This works with any Dyson Airwrap and is directly from the brand, so you know it's not a knock-off model. This is the longer barrel for longer hair and it works perfectly. It is comparable to the other attachments in terms of drying time and frizz control...it is a bit pricy, but you are paying for the name and the guarantee that it will fit and work perfectly with your Dyson.

Great addition to my fiancé’s Dyson airwrap, she loves it. For her long hair, the long barrel attachment has made styling a much easier process. Specifically, the longer barrel effortlessly wraps larger sections of her hair. Also noteworthy, when she opts for curls, they come out soft and natural looking. Health wise, using airflow, instead of extreme heat, her hair feels healthy, not dry. Good product value based on barrel effectiveness and healthier process, versus extreme heat alternatives.

I purchased my Dyson Airwrap awhile ago and I have been slowly growing my arsenal of attachments. I tend to lean toward looser, bouncy curls so this larger barrel curler is perfect for me. Because of the initial investment of this hair product, I did not want to compromise it's performance with off-brand attachments. This attachment fits my Airwrap like a glove and locks right into place as it should. The curler performs beautifully, making soft, bouncy curls. It is easy to switch between left and right handed curls simply by rotating the tip, which makes styling a breeze. The airflow is gentle and constant and reminds me why I fell in love with this hair tool to begin with. Definitely recommend investing in this attachment if bigger curls are your style.

I lost my previous barrel, and needed to replace it. This Dyson barrel is perfect and just like the original that came with my Airwrap! It clips in to the dryer well and is really easy to use. I love the way my curls turn out with the long barrel! My hair is long, down to lower back, and this size barrel gives a nice soft bounce. With a little hair product I can get a two day hold! Very effective for easy styling. Without product, it gives a gentle blowout look. Either way, I am able to customize the hold I need. The Rose is a really pretty color with the black barrel :)
