The Dynasty ProAudio PX2 is a high performance stereo preamplifier delivers excellent sound quality that works with a power amp to run a pair of high-quality full range speakers, or a pair of powered loudspeakers, or utilize the built-in active crossover to add a powered subwoofer. I own the OSD pre 1 as well for a bedroom setup. That is also a great budget preamp. The Dynasty however has two outputs and a sub out . Which my OSD pre 1 does not. Same size same design nearly , besides the aux select , on the osd it's a knob on here its a button. I have this preamp hooked to my sansui 221 and a pair of sp30s. And the sound is fuller and deeper then when I had all my inputs attached to a small moukey mixer which had ground loop issues . And now all my inputs are clean. No hiss no pops on start up . I would recommend either one as the sound quality is superb for the price if your looking, but this dynasty one wins the battle with the multiple outputs and sub out . OSD better design a pre 2 with the same function .

This is a high value item. It feels solid and sounds great. It is quiet and versatile. There are 4 line level inputs, if you include the tape monitor loop, which is also handy for including a processor of some sort. The controls/features are generally of the "old school" types, offering flexibility, and are all analog in operation. One curious feature is the "low filter" which is not a turntable rumble filter; it is down about 3dB at 50hz, and 7dB at 20hz---maybe it is intended for reducing bumps and thumps when using the mic input as a PA for voice? There are separate line level outputs that are filtered to allow one to make a basic 2.1, satellites+subwoofer setup---with appropriate external power amps, of course. I took it, along with high quality power amps and nice, very revealing, speakers to our DIY audio meeting and there was much appreciation for the overall sound of the system. We were able to input a few line-level sources, and switch between them with ease. The simple analog volume control was very handy also. The "loudness" control which provides variable boost to the low end was nice to compensate for the meeting room, which tends to be a little lean with many speakers. The slim profile of the unit made it easy to integrate into my DIY portable system "rack". My PX-1 came with rack mount brackets, which were in the box, but not attached. The mono/stereo button is good for various purposes, and is seemingly rare these days. The bass/mid/treble controls are useful. I think that if I could change one thing, without making the unit more expensive to manufacture, it would be to have a bypass button for the tone controls, maybe in place of the "low filter"???----though this would make it more of a HIFI piece, and maybe a little less versatile for PA work. Customer service answered my emails within 24hours, and even consulted with engineering about technical questions. PS: My unit came with an outdated spec sheet that lists higher distortion figures than those shown on the Amazon website. Customer service assured me to trust the figures that are posted on Amazon. It’s been a while since I indulged myself into HIFI listening with my Dynaudio C1 Confidence speakers paired to my Plinius amp and VPI turntable. The demands of work and family limit the time spent in my acoustically treated music room. But when my Plinius amp started to develop an unsolvable hum and needed repair, I set-up an alternate rig with my Rega P3 with the ND5 cartridge that passes through a Black Cube preamp connected to a Yamaha mixer and then to professional Yamaha DXR12 Mkll speakers. I added a Yamaha SW300 subwoofer to give me a deeper and more refined bass as I found PA Yamaha speakers produce bass signature to be a bit edgy. The sound that came out of it was pleasant but was not as refined as what I was accustomed to in my HIFI system. So I thought I needed a better preamp than the Yamaha mixer, which was also often put to use during events in my hotel. So I decided to look for a dedicated preamp that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Enter the Dynasty PX2. Given its price, I never expected so much from the PX2. I thought it will still be the weakest link in my alternate set-up. But boy, I didn’t know I will be in for a big surprise. The sound that came out of the same system, now with the PX2 as the preamp, has completely astounded me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. There was so much clarity and separation of instruments in a much wider and deeper soundstage. Listening to Herb Albert’s Rise vinyl album was such a blast. The details of the instruments are so articulate that separation among them are discernible that you can literally visualize where they are located in the stage or studio. The sound of the bass guitar is so precise and clear that you can even hear the hiss created by the fingers of the bassist as they slide through the strings. I tested it on vocals with songs featuring Melissa Manchester. Again the clarity and realism of her voice can only be had in preamps that cost so much more. It’s imaging was neither forward nor laidback. It was very neutral which makes listening soothing and relaxing. Net, the overall presentation is well balanced from the highest to lowest frequencies that I never was tempted to adjust the bass, treble and loudness which are available features in this preamp in order to “improve” what I was hearing. In other words, they all were left in the neutral position. Again, a sign that the PX2 is a very capable preamp to faithfully reproduce the sound of the source material in its original recording. Another bonus was the mute botton which was very handy during changing or flipping of records. So what is my verdict? The PX2 is a steal. The quality of sound it produces makes it’s worth 10X more than what I paid for it. In fact, I can confidently say that this preamp can impress even the most initiated in the HIFI world. Been listening to music through this for almost a week and feel like I have a good handle on this now. I got this preamplifier to allow me to switch sources between my viny and digital sources which had to be manually swapped on my Emotiva BasX2 amplifier. The capability to add a sub and ability to apply tone controls were also pluses. My vinyl rig is pretty revealing (Ortofon MM2 Black cart and ifi Microphono 3 phono preamp) so well recorded vinyl shines with loads of detail and resolution. With the PX1 in the chain, the low level musical details seemed elevated and the bass was increased - so much so that it was excessive (the bass filter button on the front panel fixed this) and there was a cohearance to the sound that sounded amazing with rock especially. Dream Boat Annie from Heart has never sounded better than through the PX1. Two Against Nature from Steely Dan on 2 x 45rpm which sounds even better than the DVD Audio disc I own, was softened a bit and lost some of the detail resolution I was getting when I ran the phono preamp directly to the amplifier. This was also evident on the Atlantic 75 CSN “couch” album where the iconic vocal harmonies are blurred just a bit from what I normally hear. It’s not a huge downgrade and would probably not be noticed on many systems but the extra processing which allows for the tone controls and other goodies did soften some resolution, and unfortunately cannot be bypassed. But on some music (see Heart title above) it was simply awesome, so I am inclined to keep it, and manually switch the RCA’s straight to the amplifier when critical listening - access is pretty good in my set up. For me, in my system, it is not ideal but I really enjoyed a lot of the things it does with much of the music I played through it plus it seems very well built. Ps. It comes with a power cord so no need to buy one like did.

I have had this preamp for over a month now. I held off on writing a review because I wanted to be sure what my ears were hearing. I have a Yamaha R-N1000a Network receiver. Great amp, but it tends to skew a little bright for my tastes and using the tone controls on it are a pain. Anyway, I couldn't get my Onkyo 6 disc CD player to the warm sound that I prefer and it sounded underwhelming. You could say that it sounded too clean if that's such a thing. So, I take a chance on this preamp because this was one of the few I could find with a optical in and tone controls (bass, mid, treble, loudness). I plugged my CD into the optical in on the Dynasty Pro Audio and used its DAC and wow... I am so impressed! I run the preamp into a dbx 15 band EQ so I am really able to shape the sound to my liking. I have also plugged my AT-LP120 XBT turntable into the Dynasty Pro preamp phono stage...and again, wow!!! Finally for flips and giggles, I plugged in my Wiim Ultra into the Dynasty Sound aux jack to see if I could tame some mids that I couldn't get under control when I had it running straight into my Yamaha. Three for three! I absolutely love this thing. The value is insane for what I paid for it. Update: 8/10/25 - Just bought a second one, this time the PX2 because I wanted to run my Onkyo CD player through the optical and still use the additional USB DAC with my Wiim Ultra. So happy with this. Wiim sounds amazing through the USB DAC and the Optical sounds makes my Onkyo crystal clear. This thing is amazing for the price. I would love if they added a remote and a larger volume knob in it’s next iteration, but aside from that I give it 10/10.

I was suspect of this preamp because of the limited reviews and that many of them were from Amazon vine users. However, this preamp really delivers. It’s well built, quiet, doesn’t seem to add any audible distortion, easy to use, decent phono preamp and a really great price. I have this paired with a NAD amp, NHT speakers and a Martin Logan sub - it sounds amazing. Avoid the OSD Audio Pre-1 High Definition Preamplifier and get this instead. Don’t make the same mistake I did - bough the OSD first and it’s nowhere near as good as this preamp. Ps my solution for turning on everything at once. Buy some smart plugs or smart power strip for the components. Assign to a group called stereo (or whatever). Either manually trigger stereo on or use Alexa/google to trigger it on.

I received my PX1 on April 11th of 2026. Initially I was very pleased with it and left a review praising its quality. Two months later, the left channel went out. The day after that, the right channel started acting up too. I contacted Dynasty's customer service to no avail. They told me that I should seek recompense from Amazon. The problem is that Amazon doesn't allow returns after 30 days. Bottom line? I'm just out $170 dollars. Oh well. Guess I'll just toss my amp in the dumpster. My advice? Don't buy anything from Dynasty through Amazon because Dynasty won't honor their factory warranty unless you buy directly from their website. Don't get screwed like I did. Update: I did finally speak with Amazon. I explained how things went down with Dynasty's support team. Amazon's customer service was very understanding of my situation and magnanimously agreed to waive the 30 day window and did refund my money. Still -- I wouldn't buy from Dynasty as they essentially told me to go pound sand when I tried to get a resolution. Ultimately I ended up buying a replacement preamp from Emotiva. It works well and sounds AMAZING! Unfortunately Emotiva is not sold through Amazon.

Wow ! Just.....wow. Took a chance on this no name with only a few reviews. And, I'm glad to say I did. The unit is heavy and well built. All knobs are not wiggly. Only the controls you need. All are smooth and positive. The DAC is first rate. Streamed Tidal into it max quality and was completely blown away. After listening to that, my vintage Magnavox CDP with a TDA 1541 sounded not as crisp and svelte as I remembered. So I pulled a DVD player out of the closet with optical out and used the optical in. Again, absolutely incredible sound. My set up: Onko M-501 Amp Klipsch R-820F Floorstanders 2 Onkyo SKW-50 subs (almost not needed) Yamaha Q2031 EQ Magnavox CDB465 (getting retired) Total investment, about a grand. I have been sticking to the theory that old stuff is better. I'm starting to rethink that. I don't have the golden ears, but they're still OK. This setup is as close to Audiophile as I'll get in my lifetime.
