First of all, the product came very well packed. I especially liked the way they packed the continuous rubber seal. That is to say, there were no tight kinks that gave me any problems pushing it through the aluminum rail channels. It took about 2 hours to install everything on my 16 ft. garage door. The aluminum rails are 40" long, so my door took 4 full length pieces and I had to measure and cut the 5th piece. No big deal. A couple of issues to look out for. First, the included screws were too short and too small for my door, so purchased my own hardware. Second, use clamps (especially at the joints) to insure that the joints line up perfectly before you start putting in the screws. This step makes it MUCH easier later, to slide the one piece rubber seal into place. I did the entire installation by myself, however it would have even easier with a helper. Likewise, the brush segments went in very easy. The installation was very easy and produced a great seal. Highly recommended!

Great product, instructions are adequate if you’re handy. Had to cut the last channel down as my door is 6 inches shorter than the seal kit. You might need a helper to get the rubber seal through the sections of channel, but I got it to go alone by spraying garage door lubricant generously on the channel and on the seal and pushing the seal through. I installed a section and then pushed the seal through it, then repeated the process for every section rather than installing all the sections and then muscling the seal through all at once. It also helped to stretch out the rubber seal in the sun for about an hour to warm it up. If you have to cut the channel, make sure you completely deburr the cut end before you install it. The supplied parts were nicely deburred already.

Solid, easy, went together well, the garage doors are wood. BUT, the one problem I had (on one side) was the brush was too strong (or too vertical) and didn't bend and has held the door up so the rubber seal doesn't touch the ground. I think that over time the brush will soften and the seal will touch the ground.

Our bungalow has a garage door whose seal was looking bad. This fit in nicely considering I had never replaced one before. It took a little time to figure out where to trim things but it is good to make sure before you make cuts. This has really sealed up the bottom of the door. The old one was deformed and I'm sure bugs could get in pretty easily, now they will stay outside where they belong.

The quality of Duffy's product exceeded my expectations: everything was well packaged in a double corrugated box and protected from wear, aluminum bars were scuff and burr-free, rubber easily unwound with some time in the sun, and included extra self-tapping philips head screws. For easier installation of the rubber gasket, I would recommend spraying some silicon lube in the rail channels before assembly (I used WD-40 Specialist Dry Lubricant with PTFE, which is similiar to Dupont Silicon spray and spread with a Q-tip). I would also hold the flat face (brush side) tight against the outside of the door when screwing on the tracks (as well as butted tightly to the adjacent bar). You can leave some extra brush and gasket outside of the door width when cutting down to fit an 16 ft door (total of 5 pieces comes to 16'6") but be sure to crimp the ends of the brush strips after cutting with a hacksaw to avoid losing all the bristles. In my installation, I also left the strips long, extending beyond the door openning but had to sand down the 2x6 wood to which the garage track was anchored in order to get the door to fully close. We paid extra for the grey, where the brush is slightly lighter than the aluminum finish. I would definitely purchase this item again.

The media could not be loaded. I recently replaced my old garage door rubber seal with this product, and it’s a solid upgrade overall. The rubber seal is durable and creates an excellent barrier against drafts, water, and pests. The added brush layer is great for extra protection against dust and debris. However, there were some challenges during installation that you should be aware of. First, the brush is a little long, which caused some issues when calibrating my garage door. The door would occasionally get stuck when opening or closing. It took a bit of trial and error to adjust the opening limit and ensure the brush didn’t interfere with the door’s operation. Additionally, cutting the metal frame to fit properly requires the right tools—this isn’t something you can easily do without proper equipment. I wish I had made a video documenting the technique I discovered for cutting and aligning the frame, as it might help others. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the mood to record it then. That said, no garage seal replacement is ever truly easy, and this product is no exception. Once everything was calibrated and in place, the seal worked perfectly. It’s sturdy, seals tightly, and significantly improves insulation while keeping pests out. If you’re up for a bit of a project and have the tools on hand, this is a great seal replacement option that’s worth the effort.

This door seal is fantastic. However take a look at the bottom roller for your door. As this seal should go under the bottom roller. We have an uneven door opening where the concrete is high in one spot and lower in another. This perfectly seals the door and we don't have water coming under the door when it rains. We live in SC with a South West facing door so storms approach from this direction. I used a little silicone spray to slide the seal in place and it worked like a charm.
