Bought this ice maker. It came damaged on the side. I kept it since the huge dent wouldn't be noticed between the cabinets. It worked OK for a month. The ice almost always came out stuck together. It was a very loud machine. It quit working after 6 months. I really regret buying this junk. I see why it is now on sale. STAY AWAY

Our GE ice maker bit the dust so we needed a replacement unit. We decided to give this unit a try after reading the reviews. It was ready to go right out of the box. It came with a new supply hose and a drainage hose. We swapped the door hinges and the instructions were readily available to walk ya through it. This unit can be hooked up and running with crescent wrench and screw driver only if you need to swap the door open. It was producing ice within an hour. Initially it was loud when the cubes hit the empty bin but soon quietened down. Within a matter of 12 hours or less it was completely full of ice. As long as the unit holds up it’s a 5 star for us.

Check your unit over when it arrives. Mine was boxed up all but still had significant damage to one corner. I assume it was damaged at the factory and then boxed up that way. My unit is still fully functional though and is installed in a cabinet so I didn't try and deal with the difficult return/replacement process. Installation was very easy. I installed an in-line filter and the ice is very clear and great tasting. The sump pump works very well and does make some noise but it doesn't run very long when it cycles. The ice making is also a bit noisy but not obnoxious. It fills up well within a day once I fire it up. Overall I'm quite pleased with the performance of this machine.

We chose this icemaker specifically because of the size to replace another one that we had built in. It is a fast icemaker but it can be noisy and when the ice comes out it comes in big Squares of little ice cubes. I have to keep a metal meat tenderizer in the freezer as I am always breaking up the blocks of ice!! I tried to take a picture but it came out too dark.

I can deal with the sound of ice falling down into the bucket. That's to be expected and that's not what I'm talking about when I say it's noisy. I can also deal with the idea that the ice initially comes out of the tray in sheets and either has to melt a bit or be smashed with the scoop to assume the shape of a simple cube. I think that's just the nature of this type of ice maker. Back to the noise... Holy HECK this thing is noisy. I'm currently sleeping in a downstairs bedroom while this is in the kitchen one floor above and displaced by about 35 feet diagonally from my pillow. This thing wakes me up at night and makes me think a burglar is moving furniture in my kitchen. The pump is noisy and the electric motor/compressor is noisy. It's as if the components inside the unit are out of balance. Sometimes I can bump the ice maker and make the buzzing stop and other times, it just makes noise. I'm bummed that I saved a little money on this purchase and now have to live with it. When I remodel my kitchen, this unit will either be disposed of or maybe banished to my workshop where it's always noisy anyway and I seldom try to sleep. I think this is one of those instances where I should have spent more money on a higher quality unit in the first place. Buy once, cry once, right?!?

This ice maker is horrible! The ice does not fall in individual cubes, it falls in full ice sheets. Every time you want ice, you have to use an ice pick to break the sheets up. The sheets are thin so when you add your liquid, they melt super fast. The machine itself is extremely loud, imagine your dishwasher running all day. It constantly makes ice, which is good, I guess, because you always have ice but like I said, it's loud. I've only had it for 4 months now, and it's the worst purchase I have made for our new home. We will eventually toss this and just spend the money on the name brand.
