  • Decent Print Quality, Cardboard spool creates friction and vibration
Color: Matte Gray-1 Pack
I needed a light gray PLA for a project, looking through Amazon there was plenty of dark grey but not a lot of Light Gray. I'd never used this brand of filament but the price was right and I figured i'd give it a shot. My best prints came at 210 degrees C with a bed temp of 60. PLA sticks to print bed with no issues. The only problem I had was with the spool itself. It's made of cardboard. While I respect the fact that they're using recycled materials to make these spools, I found the a lot of friction between my spool holder and the spool itself. Every few second when the printer would pull of the spool, it would rub and vibrate the printer. Looking at my prints it didn't seem like it created any resonance or ghosting, but I could hear the spool rubbing every few seconds in my office. Besides that the spool printed fine, with nice quality. The matte finish looks good, the tops of my prints seemed a little underextruded for some reason. ... show more

  • Pretty consistant
Color: Matte Black, Blue-2 Pack
Update, 2nd order has been a little more problematic, black keeps giving me random layer gaps, did another pid tune and e step calibration, still the same thing. Tried another filament, worked fine. Can't speak for the consistency of Duramic. The matte blue and black from Duramic has been in my top tier since arriving. Depending on surface area, I have to adjust the bed temp. Smaller items get 55, larger get 50. It's not a no brainer, but doesn't need much. Printing temp has been pretty consistent at 215 with 218 for first layer. I get the occasional weirdness, but overall it's been great. Can't speak for anything other than the matte colors so far, but I'm so impressed I ordered another 2 pack. ... show more

  • Amazing value
Color: Matte Black, Red-2 Pack
After having tons of issues with cheap novamaker brand PLA I was worried about trying this brand. Went ahead and got 2 1kg spools and I love this stuff. Diameter was actually as advertised so I didn't have the printing issues (over and under extrusion) I had with the novamaker brand. I read some negative reviews about this stuff being brittle. So 1st thing I did was print a test piece to throw at concrete. It did not break and barley left a dent, so its quite strong compared to other brands like inland. The matte finish looks great. With some wet sanding and polish with petroleum jelly and scotch bright pad parts look like they were injection molded and purchased. Layer and bed adhesion are both great, it takes quite a bit of effort to rip apart a printed piece with pliers and have it come apart at layer lines. Best part about it is with the online coupon it cost under 15$ (including shipping/taxes) per spool and is much better than the inland stuff I can pick up from Micro Center for 23$ a spool. I will definitely be buying more of this stuff. ... show more

  • This stuff is *tough*
Color: Matte Red-1 Pack
Out of at least half a dozen other brands I've tried, I'm honestly most often impressed with print results that I get with this particular filament. Diameter remains consistent well within posted tolerance, filament remains relatively thermally stable. I work in a machine shop, and this filament can take the heat from a buffing wheel without cooking and warping like other filaments would. I printed a 1", .017" single-wall roofless cube and it is undeniably tough and dimensionally stable. It is close to if not exceeding the durability and flexibility of PETG at times without the print difficulty and stringy mess. I run a bowden setup with 3mm retraction, not calibrated really. Oozing is mostly not evident, retraction 'zits' and 'blobs' are at a minimum. I used to have issues with filament jamming in the heatbreak after a long print cooled, causing a lot of headache after each setup. This filament has never jammed on me and would consistently extrude no matter how long it was sitting. Overall 5 Stars for value and reliability ... show more

  • Bad roll or bad product
Color: Matte Gray-1 Pack
Edit: was able to reduce the pitting through settings, but never eliminate it. 10 other filaments through this same printer in the last week with no issues at all. Print is filled with these divot marks and broke in multiple places. At first I thought it was moisture, but it literally came out of their sealed bag and went directly onto my printer. Maybe I just got a bad roll, but I don't think this filament is any good. ... show more

  • Duramic Matte PLA, pretty but not durable.
Color: Matte Black-2 Pack
I really like the look of this filament but after extensive testing I find it not suitable for my purposes. It's soft with poor layer adhesion. Fine details will shift and break no matter how slow it is printed or how good my cooling is. Finished parts are fragile and easily broken. It's literally the softest/weakest PLA I've ever printed. I have much better results with Duramic's PLA+ for things that require handling. ... show more

  • You can trust this PLA
So, have you ever had a toxic relationship where your SO treated you like crap but you just kept putting up with it because you didn't think there was anything out there better for you? This is the relationship I had with other PLAs. I finally called itnquits and decided to at the field. I hooked up with Duramic matte gray PLA. It is reliable, beautiful, and worth every penny. We are now in a monogamous relationship. 10/10. Will buy again. Is my trauma showing? 😄 ... show more

  • Great filament!
Color: Neat Blue-2 Pack
After some tweaking to normal PLA+ settings and some guidance by the Duramic Team I was able to get great results from this filament. I plan to paint the prints but this blue is so amazing. Needed a bit more heat at the hotend then my typical PLA+ but after it was dialed in I got amazing results. No stringing and great layer and bed adhesion. ... show more
