  • Did not like.
I did not like these. They sounded dead after one show. Ruined the next show, and my girlfriend left me for the keyboard player, because every woman loves a good pianist.

  • Longest lasting roundwound strings
I've been playing bass since 1986. I've used just about every brand of long scale bass strings on the market. Dunlop Super Brights in Nickel and Stainless Steel feature the longest life, high end zing, plenty of bottom-end thump and piano-like tone. I use these on passive and active basses.... traditional basses like the Fender Precision and contemporary basses such as the Ibanez Soundgear. Dunlop Super Brights sound good on any bass. The Low B strings are just as good as the E-A-D-G strings on 5&6 string sets. Highly recommended. Great value for the money. ... show more

  • A good choice in roundwound strings.
I think these strings are likely my favorite roundwound string. They're not actually super bright, but well balanced with lots of grunt, growl and punch. The G string has guts to match the rest of the set as well. The only downside I found was the the outer wrap is a bit coarse and grabby feeling. That aside, these are very good strings and currently my favorite roundwound. ... show more

  • Great for the price!
I was really on the fence about buying these strings, especially since a more well-known brand was just a few dollars more. Since they were only for one show I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but I was surprised at how good they sounded. They are very bright strings as advertised but also had some bottom too (didn't sound wimpy). That may be because they were a medium gauge. Nice overall tone and really cut through. I would buy them again! ... show more

  • Livens up the PBass
When I need the bright side change to treble and she really sings. Bass up is clean yet mellow. The only strings I use on “this bass”. Makes my dimension 5 growl pretty good too

  • Want bright bass tone? Buy these!
I've been using Ernie Ball Slinky bass strings for years, and while those are my go-to strings, I was looking for something a little brighter for recording (my setup is an American standard jazz bass going straight into a DI box). After restringing my bass with the Dunlop Super Brights, I did notice an increase in top end from the bass (yes, partially because these were brand new) and a couple months later, the tone is still bright and the strings are nowhere near dead. I dig 'em! ... show more

  • More like... “Dumb Flop”.
I have been playing bass for 35 years and have broken 4 strings over that period of time. I broke my first string as a novice in my first year of playing (late 80s) my second string in one of my first gigs 30 years ago and the last 2 this very week (February 2020). As I was stringing my bass I broke the E string of one pack and I had it replaced... I then broke the E string of the replacement pack they sent me a day later. I’m sad to say that I cannot recommend Dunlop strings for bass... I am quite dissatisfied so I’ll be sticking to Rotosound Ernie Ball and GHS. ... show more

  • Good tone stiff string.
These strings feel a bit stiff but the tone is clear. Not just the gauge either. Other strings have less tension for the same gauge but I assume that is how these have a nice bell like ring to them even unplugged. If I would not purchase this gauge again on this brand.
