    • For a Dunlop, I Exspected More...
After having ridden on just about every brand of Motorcycle tire, i.e. Metzler, Shinco, Avon, Brickstones, pun intended, Michlen and so on, I found the Dunlop D404 to not leave a good taste. First of all there was a hassle on the part of the dealer to get the tire to me. After about a week of riding on it I noticed a slight hop in the front forks. I though that perhaps my fork oil was telling me time to change it, so I did, and still had the hop. Next I tried new wheel bearing and that did not help either. Finally I checked the roundness of the tire, sure enough the tire was ever so slightly out of round. Just enough to cause the hop at higher speed. OK, so maybe I'm the only one who got an out of round tire, the others have posted five-star reviews here were probably people who got good tires. so what is this all mean, Dunlop is a pretty good brand, been around forever, use them on my cars, but this is the first time I've used one on my motorcycle and it had to be about one. Unfortunately as it's on the bike I most likely just going to leave it there and put up with the hop. Why you may ask yourself, simply because of the hassle I had in getting the tire in the first place and having to go back to the vendor which I really don't want to do. So is a very wise man once said you pays your money and you take your chances. Living in the great state of Nevada, a gambling state I'm used to taking a gamble every once in a while however this will probably be the last Dunlop I ever by. These dunlop motorcycle tires have great tread life. I have a vtx 1800 and commute 120 miles a day and I feel that they are a great value for the money.
