This is not heavy duty memory foam. It is very lightweight and has very little memory, but that is good for us. The more dense memory foam is, the more it seems to hold heat. This very lightweight foam has just enough memory in it to feel like it is forming to your body. It made an extra firm mattress perfect. It is still firm with no sinking but much more comfortable. I love the combo because extra firm springs last forever and if this wears I will just get a new top. It did smell, but we followed the directions and left it on top of bed under a running ceiling fan for 48 hours, flipping after 24, and it aired out well. We purchased a memory form mattress for my son and it was to hard. He would complain about every day that it was to hard and he couldn’t sleep on it. We purchased this topper. It came in a pretty small package, on time and in good condition. Once I open the package and cut the plastic it expanded nicely and went on the bed very easy. This is a very nice mattress topper. It's light in weight but feels substantial (it's not thin and flimsy). Very little odor residue even straight out of the packaging, brand new. And pretty soft to the touch, which was unexpected. Overall a very nice product.

Read all the negative reviews about horrible chemical odors, failure to return to original shape, etc. Opened it up and noticed a light odor, but it dissipated in less than an hour. Didn't take 48 hours to fully expand; within two hours it was at full loft. Fits the new mattress in the Murphy Bed in our new California Closets Office System perfectly. Made the bed much more comfortable to rest on. Full disclosure: haven't slept on it since it is in the Office, but napped on it the other day. Seemed very comfortable and "softened" the feel of the foam mattress that came with the Murphy Bed. Since it will only be used infrequently (we have a Guest Suite so this is for "overflow" guests) we weren't too worried about long-term comfort. Will update this review after we get an opportunity to try it out over night or let guests give us their review. ... show more

I bought this not sure if I would like it or not. I just needed a little bit of extra comfort. I went with the 2 inch it came out quickly and was already at 2 inches before 10 minutes was up I’m not gonna lie I only waited about five hours, and put it on the bed, it is amazing. It is so comfortable that my son even came in the room and asked for one because he loves laying on it so much I will say I don’t understand why it says you will get cool because it did make me warmer, but that’s OK. I just stop layering so many blankets , it still gets five stars from me because I’m sleeping better my joints feel better and overall for the price I feel like I got a great deal ! ... show more
