While installing a gas fireplace is no fun when it comes to hooking up the gas line, it’s totally worth it. This one is a little challenging because they don’t really leave you a lot of room to work. The gas line has to enter from the bottom or the side and there’s about an inch and a half of room. But once you heal up the skinned knuckles, it’s worth the effort! The thermostat works perfectly, the temperature is steady, and mine heats my whole house. I would recommend this to anyone, but get expert help having it installed. ... show more

    • Don't BUY!!!

Don't Buy!!! Bought for specifically a GAS, not propane, fireplace and it came ready for propane. Called customer service, they said we need to buy a universal gas kit to convert it over. They even sent an email with a pic of universal gas kit from our local Lowes. So we order it (because Lowes did not have in stock), and wait 7-10 days to get it. Our local licensed gas installer (plumber) which we had to wait to be scheduled 7-10 days out for, said none of the pieces in the kit would work. What? So we called customer service they said yes it will but told us to buy another universal gas kit directly from them instead. What? Why not do this in first place??? So we bought it. 7-10 days later we get the kit. Wait another 5 days for gas man who says nope, none of the fittings would work. I went to call customer service back. By this time the 30-day return policy was up. Come to find out that exact piece that they said is needed to convert it from propane to gas does not exist. No where!!! We checked 7 different towns and online. We ended up going to Lowes and buying a different brand fireplace, and converted it over from propane to gas, and had it hooked up in less tha an hour. Not a happy camper. Don't buy, they are nothing but a rip off. ... show more

Excellent quality and extremely happy with this purchase! I’ve been in the HVAC industry for 20yrs and this log set surpasses many that I’ve installed! Logs are labeled for setup (which is out of the norm) and the glowing embers give it a very nice look! Highly recommended!

These are a great set of logs for the price. BUT 1st set arrived broken and would not light. I was NOT able to return through Amazon! 🤦 I had to buy a 2nd set through Home Depot. 2nd set worked. As others have stated, you MUST undo the metal zip tie under the unit and separate the copper thermostat from the logs or it will shut off after a few minutes. If your logs are shutting off on their own it's because the copper thermostat is too close to the flames. Hopefully this saved you some troubleshooting. I had a vented fireplace that came with the house I purchased. It was a little concerning to me to see heat go up the chimney not really benefiting from the flames. I did a lot of research and landed on this one. I was a little skeptical reading some of the negative ratings, but there are always some negative ones. Taking a chance I made the purchase. The instructions were simple and I have some mechanical skills, which will help you. Once I connected everything I was highly impressed.     • Broken logs

The burner its self works great, very clean burner. the problem I have is came with a broken log, the Logs are not the best but they work. I haven's tried customer assistance yet and I have little hope for a response after reading the same problem from others but I will try.

    • Sadly, they would not stand behind a defective unit.

Purchased the product for our lake house. Do to being busy at work, I was not able to install it right away. As the cold weather came in, I had to get it installed. Once installed it would not stay lit. I called customer support, spoke with them for nearly an hour. They said I would have to send a part of it back to get fixed because it was out of the 30 day warranty policy. I had to purchase a different one to keep the pipes from freezing and it works great. Upon messaging them back and forth they still refuse to refund my money and take back the defective unit. They tried to blame it on gas flow (even though I had a plumber check it, I even gave them the plumbers name and location). I would implore anyone in the market for a fireplace insert to look elsewhere. After trying more than 3 different times to resolve this issue they refuse to take the unit back because I was over 30 past the point of purchase ( I was 11 days past the 30). I will now have to contact Amazon to help with resolving the issue. As it stands I am out over $300 with an insert that will not stay lit and the company will not stand behind their product.
