Had to cut off plastic and use the filler rod from existing strap to insert back in to awning tube. I was afraid the Plastic wouold wear a hole in to awning fabric

I could not use the units with the plastic parts on the RV Awing. I finally just cut off the plastic and used the rubber piece to insert the strap just like the old one. Now it works great.
