This replaced my 3 year old queen size topper. My sciatica pain while sleeping had returned, and although I flipped the previous topper every 3 - 4 months, and it looked good, I thought I would try a new topper. I am absolutley thrilled that I did. My previous toper cover was a zip on, which I thought would be helpful with keeping it on the pad. However I have found that this design is more than enough to keep the cover in place. The bands that keep it on the pad are underneath the cover, very accessible yet out of sight. It is going to make washing it so much easier to get off and on, and encourage me to do so more often. As with everything new, I did wash the cover before putting on the bed. It looked brand new, and showed no signs of shrinkage when putting overt the pad. You will see that the cover is deep enough to cover the pad and the mattress itself. Note that this will raise your mattress by a couple of inches and you may need to buy a deeper pocket bottom sheet. If you have pets that jump on your bed, this will make a difference to them, but you won't have any trouble getting in and out of bed. Speaking of getting out of bed, I did not experience any areas of sinking while sleeping, and the best part no hip pain. I actually woke up in the morning and realized that I hadn't woken up multiple times during the night to reposition myself. I had been taking a couple of OTC pain relievers lately. I have not needed anything to help with pain since using this. There were no chemicals smells, and the pad was nearly two inches right out of the package. I did wait for about 20 hours before putting on my bed, but that was because I wanted to wash the cover first. The topper is soft, comfortable, I have very sensitive skin, and have not had any reaction to the topper. Not that I would expect to as of course there is a sheet over it, but I wanted to mention it. All in all this is helping me day and night. I purchased the queen size and it was the perfect size for my queen mattress. I have purchased products from this seller before, and have found that all of the products to be of good quality and prompt delivery. Be careful when opening not to use a sharp point as you do not want to cut the pad or the cover (which makes this a topper).
