I have another battery (a Greenworks 80V knockoff) from this company, and it has worked relatively well, though occasionally the charger will not shut off after that battery is fully charged. It seems there is some issue with the battery communicating with the charger. I havenβt noticed that problem with this battery yet. I own just about every Greenworks 80V tool made and modified this Kobalt style battery to use with them. For those new to this game, the Greenworks and Kobalt batteries are identical except for a small difference in the slots on the side that prevents you from being able to use a Kobalt battery in a Greenworks tool or a Greenworks battery in a Kobalt tool. However, here are numerous online videos that will show you how to easily modify the batteries to make them work with either brand of tools. I just ran my Greenworks pole saw with this battery and had no issues. It seems to charge at the same speed as my OEM batteries and lasts about the same amount of time of use. These non-OEM batteries are much less expensive than the branded ones and for me it makes sense.

I have a Kobalt chainsaw that takes an 80V battery. It takes a LOT of power, and thus doesn't last more than 30 minutes of serious cutting at the woodpile. They want close to $200 at Lowes for a replacement 2.5Ah battery. This 3.5Ah one has more power, and I assumed it would last longer than my 2.5 Ah original. It did, but not as long as I had thought. It DOES give you another 8-10 minutes of cutting. The fact that it's roughly $50 cheaper than the original however, is worth it for me. Keep in mind that unlike a weedwhacker, which take a more consistent amount of current, a chainsaw varies tremendously depending on how big a log you're cutting and what kind of wood you're going through. If I'm just trimming small branches, I get almost twice the cutting time than when I'm cutting firewood from a 14 inch log. Bottom line, this battery works great and will save you money. Why pay more? It fits my original Kobalt charger and all of my 80V Kobalt equipment.

I have a number of Kobalt 80v items and batteries are always an issue. While I have several. , they are all starting to show their age - some more than others. This DSANKEγ80V 3.5Ah Real Capacity Battery for Kobalt 80V Batteryγis compatible with my chargers and tools; in fact, other than markings, this DSANKE is identical to my Kobalt batteries. (I have another brand battery that was a bit heavier than Kobalt) The slipped right into the charger and charged up in a reasonable time. After reaching full charge, I dropped it in the leaf blower and went out to check battery life. The leaf blower is probably the most battery hungry tool, especially on full power and turbo button, so it makes a good test bed - not only for these Dsanke's but other brands I've tested also. Using the blower at full speed (including the little turbo button depressed), the battery lasted almost 11 minutes. A different brand battery also lasted 11 minutes, so that is encouraging. Dropping the battery back on the charger, it came back up to full power in about 40 minutes. While the Dsanke battery was charging, I took an existing Kobalt battery and repeated the process with that one. Fully charged, blower on full speed including turbo, the Kobalt battery lasted nine minutes. Pretty comparable! Except, the DSANKE is 3.5Ah and the Kobalt is 2.5Ah. So, the Dsanke should have lasted longer. Kobalt was fully charged in the same time as the Dsanke (i.e. less than an hour). Overall, I am happy. The battery fits the tools, fits the chargers, and provides life that is appropriately longer (given capacity) than the stock (albeit, older) Kobalt batteries. The string trimmer (and, other things using that base), the hedge trimmer, and the lawn mower all have less demand, so the batteries tend to last longer. This battery is a good buy to add backup batteries to your tools.

Excited to find a Kobalt 80v battery replacement to work with my Kobalt tools. The battery has a larger capacity than my original batteries. It is an exact fit for my charger and tools. The main difference from a cosmetic appearance is the original batteries have a rubber shell on the display end. These batteries are all hard shell casing. The hard shell on this battery isnβt quite as rigid. Pressing on the longest flat surface has a bit more flex. Doesnβt impact performance. Used in a Kobalt chain saw for over an hour off and on. Battery still read at over half charge. Old batteries required changing at least once in this timeframe. If this new battery lasts through years of use if will be a great affordable option. It will take years to find out.
