The media could not be loaded. This little thing is screaming!!! I’ve noticed that a lot of people have said that it doesn’t put out much bass. Well in a way it’s true if you’re just installing these speakers without a subwoofer. At the same time they do flex a little but you need to connect them to an additional amp and not just to your car stereo, to get the sound these babies are made for! But if you are putting this/these type of speakers with a big subwoofer which is my case, then this speakers are ideal and put out just enough bass when turned up high not to interfere with the bass that your subwoofer will produce. Because if you have a subwoofer installed with door speakers that trying to bump at the same time, then it sound like crap. This speaker puts out the exact amount of bass that I needed which won’t make the whole system sound bad when I have the subwoofer installed, I’m still working on box for the new subwoofer. But from my experience I can Already tell that it will sound awesome! I’ll try to load some videos of before and after as well as pictures. And of the Decibel reader that I have, but it reads only up to 130db and with this new speaker it kept saying overload or something like that 😂 If you have a dedicated amp for them then don’t overload them from the beginning like I did by mistake, need to brake them In for a few days first. It got stinky in my case for a little while but it didn’t burn out. Pros: 1. Very loud and crisp 2. Good build quality Cons: 1. 30 minutes later I still got a headache after running some test lol 😂 Edit: unfortunately Amazon let me load only one vid so I loaded the one of the new speaker. You cannot really see it flexing on the video but it does flex a little! ... show more

These speakers are amazing. I made a custom box and threw 2 of these DS18 mids in there, and wow. They're so loud and have crystal clear sound, not lots of bass, but they are loudspeakers so thats not what I was expecting. I have two American Bass 12's in the trunk and paired with these, my system screams louder and beats harder than anything I've ever heard. If you are looking for loud midrange speakers for a upgraded system these are the way to go. Also, I would recommend these only if you have some sort of aftermarket bass setup, because they are so overpowering for factory speakers even on a stock amp😵💫 ... show more

Sounds good for a speaker even above this price point. I was looking for something specific for a particular OEM speaker box in my Lexus and this one didn't fit the parameters but not because it lacks anything. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of these if they fit my application better. First DS18 product so I am definitely checking them out now that I know that they are truly a contender. This speakers r the best in the world is always buy them for every car I have i have 4 in the doors from before and now I bought 4 more to arm this speaker box only that I got 1 first wich was an 8" by mistake wich i have to return to get the other 6.5 to finish my speaker box for this

So far so good. Ordered one to replace a dated JBL mid range woofer that had been in my car for 7 years. The mdf ring adapter rotted and insulation failed on the speaker terminals so I said let me try these ds18s and I am happy I did. I'm powering them with 150w rms from a hifonics Zeus 1000.4 amp. Used with my JBls crossover (more as a power relay) it still sounds good. It's loud, clear and with my JVC nt3 headunit I can tweak the settings just right. No more distortion, thank goodness. I will add, that these are massive. Mounting depth probably won't fit some vehicles, or the magnet will hit your window when you roll it down. I anticipated this and used speaker ring spacers and sound dampening and it fits in my 2010 Mazdaspeed 3. These speakers are heavy, I'd say over 3lb each. If you can power, fit, and EQ these properly, then you'll enjoy. I've ordered another to replace the other speaker, as the volume from the DS18 is a bit louder than my JBL p660. I'll also say I've been into car audio upgrades for my whole life. I've had Alpine type R, JL c5s, infinity kappas, jbls, morrel and Hertz, and though I can't say these sound better, the fact they're over-sized and power hungry, I'm not worried about blowing one like a $350 pair of JL speakers which is very very nice. ... show more
