Loud with four 7581 tubes going to it. I purchased the 8 ohm version to go in parallel with a 12 inch speaker. Both have metal screens in a slant cabinet. Sound is good with a piccolo bass.

These are Amazing!!! They really blew my mind away... And for the price?!?!? I'm sold on DS18's!! They are extremely loud and clear! These really have a sharp pop to them. I'm running a rear deck on my 2015 Corolla. I have two 8" X8BM's, two 6" X6BM's, and two 4" JBL selenium ST400's BLK on a Crunch Ground Pounder 1500.4 and a Massive Audio EQ7. Like I said... It's amazing what these speakers can do! The only thing I've noticed is that the paper cones faded on me because of the sun and not having window tint. I have window tint now, But not a big deal since it's common for speakers to fade when exposed to the sun. I'm going to have to Inkwash the paper cones with diluted ink and some alcohol or paint thinner and just put a really really thin coat on to bring the color back to life. ... show more

I replaced a 5.25" speaker in a vintage cabinet with 12", 5.25", and 3" speakers. Although advertised as 5.25", the spec sheet and tape measure show it to be 4.72". I had to make a wood bracket, screw the speaker to that, and screw it all into the hole for the speaker in the cabinet. So beware of the size of the hole in your cabinet. With that, it is installed and crisp and clear. Happy to get rid of my crackling 50 year old speaker. ... show more

Why do you say 8ohms when clearly the data sheet and the speaker say 4 ohms! I am livid. Waste of my time and effort! If you can get you information right then don’t sell. Deceptive.
