My son is 6 but loves all things music and especially his drum set. He also unfortunately misplaces drumsticks (or one stick) regularly so being able to several sets for this price is fantastic for us! He has a 5-piece drum set as well as drum pads. He has used these on both with no issues at all. We have had no issues, with breaking or splintering. They all appear uniform in shape, style, and weight. They are comfortable for either him or I to hold (but he is the only one actually playing) They appear well balanced to me. Lovely drumsticks, perfect for serious use, and not bad for my kids to use. We have a full size, normal drum set, and I enjoy practicing, but not as much as my 5 and 6 year old like it. And they make some noise, but they also hit the steel rim. They have broken inferior drum sticks, but these have really good sturdiness and build quality, and I think they will work well. The weight of these sticks is comfortable. Not 'heavy' but certainly enough heft to accurately wave up and down. They are the normal size. For a big pack of 8, this is a terrific value. I'm very pleased to have this set, and I won't run out for at least a couple of weeks with these kids running around. ... show more
