Hardwire dash cam is the way to go

  • clock time display is wrong
The clock time you see when viewing live video is FOUR HOURS AHEAD OF MY TIME ZONE!! I checked my time zone was correctly set on Eastern Time. So I call customer service and the tech tells me, "sorry for your luck, we are working on how to correct the time zone error for the XC camera". So I guess if you need to access your camera data in case of an accident or a breakin, you turn over the video to law enforcement and the video has the wrong time stamp on it. Good luck convicting anyone when their lawyer proves their client was not at the scene at the time stamped on the video. Simply unbelievable that they haven't figured out how to correct this time error. ... show more

  • Actually works... For a recurring monthly charge
Love this cam! Works great with very clear imagery day or night and so many useful security features. Love the image quality and the ability to stream video from anywhere at any time. Also love how easy it is to access your event and driving videos from the SD card via wifi. Cons are that it isn't cheap to have the fun features like cloud access and streaming. You don't have to have the subscriptions if you don't want, it would then work like a normal dash cam, and you can still access images via wifi, but then you would be better off with spending half the cost for other units that have just as good image quality, if not better (4k VS 2k) If $20+/mnth is more than you want to spend for the streaming and cloud features then I would suggest pass on this. But if you do want LTE features then this is an awesome investment! ... show more

  • Great product, but prepare your bank account for monthly withdrawals to use it to its full potential
You get a "Premium" package for 30 days with this product (after you spend the money for the actual product and to have it installed). Something to keep in mind would be you'll need to purchase a monthly plan (starts with basic at $180 for 5 years if you buy it within the certain promo time). But wait... there's more. You'll also need to buy a data plan if you want to access the camera from your phone or look at the video sent to the cloud. Of course, the videos sent to the cloud only happens if you buy enough GB. Once you max out, it stops sending them until your next month starts. It doesn't take much to fill the lower plans either. They advise you to turn off the "automatically send alarms to the cloud" feature, but that's really the point of having this product. If something happens, you want it sent immediately. They tell you to turn down the sensitivity on the parking and event detection settings to save space. Also kind of defeats the purpose. They tell you you don't have to use it and can access the saved items from the SIM card, but that requires taking it out of the device and plugging it into a laptop (you might need an adapter), or you can literally have to sit in your vehicle to access them because the key needs to be turned and you have to hit the wifi button on the device while attempting to view them. So basically you have to decide if you want to save money and go through sitting in your vehicle to view anything saved, taking the SIM card out and plugging it in somewhere else, or you're looking at a monthly bill for the life of this thing. This simply isn't for someone on a budget. It's a great product, but if you want to be able to use it as such, it's going to cost you. Do your due diligence and research all their monthly plans before committing. $20 a month might not seem like a lot, but that's $240 a year plus the cost of the product and the install just to have a mid range plan (I'm only at the basic level plus a 3GB data plan for that). ... show more

  • Not worth it.
Bought and installed at Best Buy. To function it requires a paid subscription on top of base product price. It never would upload despite paid subscription. Absolutely no real customer service phone. They require you to fill out an email and no one calls back. Not worth it. Junk product/service.
