The stylish triple chrome coated steel frame and steel spoke wheels add a touch of elegance to this bariatric wheelchair. This Sentra EC Extra Wide Heavy Duty Wheelchair comes with detachable full arms and a 28" wide seat. Foot rests are sold separately (Elevating Leg Rests - Drive Model phelr, Swing Away Foot Rests - Drive Model ph-sf).

So the chair was just delivered. The UPS guy was very concerned bc the packaging was beat up and open. He had me look at it and I decided to accept it. I have just carefully looked it over and have found a couple of issues. 1) There is a significant scratching on one of the seat bars. The scratching is deep, down the the metal. But is cosmetic. 2) ALSO - and this is a big one, BOTH of the horizontal bars that the seat padding is screwed into are both bent inward, so much so that the bars are NOT sitting in the front bar holders that are attached the the front of the frame. All of that being said, if you have to order you wheelchair (as I did), order a QUALITY chair (imperfections can be fixed). Don't go cheap and DONT order one with plastic parts (especially back wheels). Plastic wheels will only slide on smoothe surfaces- they have zero traction. Maked Sure that you do your research on all parts of your purchase. Independence is the goal of having a wheelchair, and it's an investment. This is a quality chair. And will last years. This is a great chair, heavy duty and comfortable. Just notice that IT DOESN'T INCLUDE THE FOOTREST, they need to be purchased separately. you will need standard 1.3" Pin footrest. Just take this in consideration.

It turned out we didn't really need one this wide. I knew it was too wide to fit through most doorways but I figured most medical offices had wide doors but we were wrong about that! We had to put this on a special trailer because it's really hard for one person to try to lift the thing to put it in the back of a truck. It turned out it was too big for my father in law who insisted he needed one this wide. We didn't use it until a few days ago and it was too late to return it. It is very sturdy and well made so I hope I can try to find someone in need that can use it. ... show more

The wheelchair is great, but when it can in, it does not have foot pads. I am very concerned because upon second look, one picture shows wheelchair with foot pads, and one shows the wheelchair without any. This wheelchair WILL NOT serve my needs without any foot pads.
