This is more of a transport chair than manual chair. It’s light and comfortable but the wheel placement (being behind your sitting center of gravity) and size make getting over thresholds iffy. I’m 5”10 200 and it’ll “spin out” once in a while over a sliding door threshold. Thresholds have really been my biggest peeve. If they’re steep or sudden you man need help or pull yourself through on the jam. I removed the anti tippers as well they could get caught trying to go over patio door thresholds backwards- as in trying to use the bigger wheels to get over the door track I have no issue pushing it but the wheel size might be an issue for others especially if you’re used to “regular” chairs since you’ll be pushing harder and from a slightly more back position. I also use an 18 inch cushion that’s 1.5 to 2 inches thick and have no issues with the leg height or placement I can easily place this in a full-size truck backseat from the drivers or passengers seat but strength is a very individual thing. It will fold easily If I were going on long outings I might pick my old chair with larger wheels if I’m pushing myself. If I have help this is better for all involved weight wise and handy brake handle wise Drive if you’re listening I’ll gladly accept another 2-5 pounds if you add a wheel adjustment similar to a strongback chair and adjustable brake placement so we can add bigger wheels ... show more

I got my new drive wheel chair delivery on 1/15/26 and it was defected on 2/20/26 . I don't know how to return as i passed my return window which 2/13/26.

    • Have to take off the seat cushions to fold the wheelchair

One negative is you have to take off the both seat cushions to fold the wheelchair then put them back before using it. Lots of velcro and kinda annoying.

I replaced a feather chair with this. I can move this myself. Brakes work well. It does weigh a few pounds more however both of my caregivers say they cant tell the difference putting it in the car. They both say it’s easier to push.

The Drive Medical chair has exceeded every expectation with its lightweight, sturdy, and incredibly comfortable, yet still easy to fold, lift, and transport. Setup was a breeze right out of the box, and the design feels thoughtful and user friendly, from the smooth rolling large wheels and reliable dual braking system to the sleek matte finish that looks more like modern travel gear than medical equipment. The seat mesh is supportive and comfortable for long use, though I do wish the footrests were slightly longer.
