This came today, and we needed a cup for the afternoon, so we used this to give it a try. We were pleased with the beans, the aroma was great, and the flavor was not bitter or too bold, but it was a tad too smooth. It was a nice mellow cup of coffee, though. Recommend. ... show more

Roasted in Lake Tahoe this medium-roast whole bean coffee according to information on the company’s site is a blend of 60% Honduras Pacayal Honey and 40% Peru Aproeco. The coffee is stated to be sweeter less bitter and after brewing a pot I agree with that description. I used a burr grinder on a medium setting for brewing in a quality automatic drip machine that allows the temperature to be set (I used 188F degrees) and intensity (I selected bold). The resulting brewed coffee was lightly sweet and well-balanced with a light note to acidity and bitterness that individually are not noticeable and together create complexity. These things are objective but this is a coffee that I could drink all day. To estimate shelf-life of the 11 ounce re-sealable pouch is 12 months in the future but dates will vary.
