  • High quality and great for dogs.
First, I would like to say that I spent a long time researching many different inflatable kayaks, and I was looking for one in which I felt safe to take my 60 lb Dalmatian. I also have used an Intex Explorer K2 without doggo. The Voyager got my pick because of the build quality and expected durability. I haven’t taken it out on the water yet, so I can’t comment on the performance or actual durability. I have only inflated/assembled everything, and I am very impressed so far. The quality, comfort, and the ease of setup and tear down are exceptional. The pump inflates very fast, and also helps remove any air left when deflating, making it easier to fold up again. It has a very nice, durable fabric cover, so I am less worried about my dog riding in it. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room for extra gear. One thing I have seen in other reviews, and the Q&A section, is that the bag will only hold the kayak. This is not true. The bag holds everything - kayak, seats, and paddles - except the pump. Although, I feel like I could probably fit that too if I made a better effort. Additionally, Market Fleet has great customer service. One thing that is not mentioned anywhere in the description is that this kayak comes with a repair kit. My box was missing the glue for the patches, so I messaged Market Fleet. They responded within a couple of hours (maybe less) and politely asked for my address so they could send some immediately. Lastly, I would like to offer a quick comparison to another inflatable kayak I have used, the Intex Explorer K2. The Driftsun has a more premium look and feel, which is to be expected given the price gap. The premium look and feel inspires much more confidence in its durability. The Intex feels kind of like a pool toy, whereas the Driftsun feels solid and rigid thanks to the fabric shell and thick rubber-like hull. I feel much more confident sitting in the Driftsun than I did paddling the Intex. I also did not trust it would be safe to bring my dog in the Intex despite many websites claiming you can. In the Driftsun, I am not worried one bit about accidental punctures from my dog’s nails. As for the comfort of the two, the Driftsun wins here as well. The Driftsun’s padded seats are more comfortable despite being thinner than the Intex’s thick inflatable seats. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. The exceptional quality, comfort, and the fact I can bring my doggo with confidence makes this kayak well worth the higher price tag than some of the other cheaper options. ... show more

  • Love the kayak for the versitility!
I bought the Driftsun Voyager inflatable kayak for an upcoming camping trip and we didn't want to haul the hard-sided kayaks. While it will hold two people, it would be a bit tight for anyone larger. If you like your legs straight out, it will probably be a bit cramp. However, I intentionally bought it because it is a bit shorter than some of the others and is a great size for one person. I really like how light it is. The seats are great, more comfortable than my hard side. My husband took the 2nd seat and put it in our inflatable kayak. I used my own paddle, but if you're shorter, you'll need a bit longer paddle. I'll have to take it out again and try their paddle. So, no review on the paddle. The kayak is stable and easy to steer. The pump is nice to have the pressure gage, but you'll get a little workout. As a last note, make sure that the fin has a retention pin attached by string. Mine was missing, but I didn't know that. On the first voyage, I lost the fin. Called Driftsun customer service (Market Fleet) and they were able to help out. Although they didn't have any in stop, they issued a refund which more than covered the fin. I'll definitely consider another Driftsun if we need one in the future. ... show more

  • I used this Kayak four times, then there was a loud BANG
At first, I was impressed with this product after having had other inflatable kayaks. The floor was firm, and the overall quality seemed excellent. I used the boat four times, following the instructions on how much pressure to inflate it. On the fourth time out we heard a loud bang and the floor buckled up, as you will see in the photos. This is quite a disappointment. ... show more

  • Make sure the kayak is adequately inflated; the gauge on the pump should register PSI.
The kayak seems sturdy , stable and easy to get into. It could be a little less bulky when deflated. Another brand with very similar materials fold up to a smaller space and the paddle will fit in the carry bag.

  • Great Kayak for the Price- Chocolate Lab Not included!
First off, I live in the Reno Tahoe area so this will get alot of use! its a double seat and I actually purchased with the intent to take my chocolate lab of 82 lbs out with me. shes never been in a kayak so I made the decision to blow it up inside to get her accustomed to sitting and getting in and out of it. As you can see, she really loves it! I set it up with only 1 seat somewhat centered in the middle. Whats great about it is that there is really alot of room even when she lays down. I have ample space behind my seat as well. The cavity in the front area is nice and deep and I will put my floating storage pack up there. The side pontoon area on each side has a zipper so you can shove small items in there...like your keys etc. the Pump has a PSI meter on it which is AWESOME b'c its easy to over inflate these types of items.... The seat was comfy even sitting on the hard floor... you can adjust the amount of lean by adjusting the (4) straps on the seat. there are 3 velcro locations for Seat Placement. The bottom of the seat has Velcro to hold it in place. I really like this feature because you dont feel like you are slipping around. The deflation was pretty easy. The valves have a stop lock and a release dial (if you will) so the air doesn't escape when you disconnect the pump and when you need to deflate, you loosen the other screw valve. It didnt necessarily deflate flat on its own. I had to actually sit on it to get the air out (i also didnt use the pump to deflate it, which is an option) this is obviously key to a successful storage. Pay attention to the manufacturer's folding method in order to get it back into the bag. as you can see from pic #3, i was able to get it back in there as one person, which is important. It reminds me of buying a tent and never being able to fold it back the way it came and get it to fit into the stuff sack. they fold it in 3rds length wise and then 4 quarters (rolls) to get it in. it worked! the paddles are easy to get together. Note there are literally NO INSTRUCTIONS in the box. so if you have never done this before, be prepared for a little moment of confusion with some things. Overall, i really like this. Im taking out this weekend for its maiden voyage... hopefully, i can do a follow up review! dont forget to wear a lifejacket as well! and if using with your pup- vital for them to have a lifevest too. Something can go crazy wrong and that could be an overall bad experience... HAPPY KAYAKING! ... show more
