  • Sleek, compact, quiet and can rapidly remove the amount of dust in the air.
Set name: Deep Black Standard
As everyone knows dust is in the air all around us. It is visible when the sun light is cast just right in a room. If someone walks through it while you are looking at the dust, you can actually see the dust particles swirl following the displaced air caused by walking. Many people are allegic to dust, some even when present in moderate or small quantities after a lifetime of constant exposure. We have a family member who is sensitive to dust, so I jumped at the chance to get this Dreo Air Purifier. We have two Dreo humidifiers that we use in cold weather and they have worked flawlessly. Dreo makes high quality functional items. This Dreo Air Purifier is an item made with the same high quality. Here are the positives with the Dreo Air Purifier: 1. It comes safely packaged to ensure a safe, undamaged arrival. 2. It comes with a set of instructions enclosed that are clearly written and easy to follow. The most important point is to remove the filter from the unit (easy to do) and dispose of the plastic bag protecting the filter prior to first use. That is stressed multiple times. If not removed prior to use, it could pose the risk of a fire hazzard. 3. It has a nice compact size and a sleek appearance, but can still really turn over the air in a room removing dust quickly, if you wish. There are multiple speed levels available to adjust manually; increasing the speed also increases the amount of noise, however if placed on low speed it is very hard to even hear the motor. There is also the ability to place the unit on automatic, where the unit senses the amount of dust in the room and adjusts the speed accordingly. We placed it on auto and the speed indicator bar on the display never rose above two, still quiet. It rapidly decresed the amount of dust in the room. Be aware that the level of dust can rise again by repeatedly walking through the room because that stirs up dust that had settled on the floor, or objects, so keeping it on auto means you don't have to worry about it. 4. Regarding the display and adjustment buttons, It displays a number that represents the anount of dust that it senses in the air. It also has a color coded area on the display that changes color as the dust fluctuates to certain levels. When we first turned it on it displayed the number 86, along with a corresponding Amber color a somewhat elevated level. After a few hours the number was lower and it changed to Green, a lower dust level. The ideal is when the display color changes to Blue, that means that there is a very low level of dust is being sensed by the unit. The thing I like about the colors is that you can clearly see them from across the room, where the numeric level may be harder for some people to see, especially near-sighted folk. To sum it up, this is one nice looking, functional unit that can really lower the level of dust in the air in your room. ... show more

  • A Must-Have During the Canadian Wildfire Smoke—Seriously!!!
Set name: Black Smart WiFi
I ordered this air purifier a couple of weeks ago because I have asthma and a pretty severe dust allergy, so having clean air in my bedroom is important. I am a big fan of Dreo having a Dreo heater and Dreo Humidifier at home and at work a Dreo fan already. The timing of the delivery couldn't have been better. Literally the day after it arrived, we started getting air quality alerts here in New York because of the Canadian wildfires (I am so sorry Canada - We are all thinking of you and sending our love!). That night my eyes became unusually itchy, and I realized the air quality was probably affecting me more than I thought. By the next day, we could actually smell the smoke in the air, even though we're hundreds of miles away from the fires. I unboxed the DREO purifier, plugged it in, and was shocked. The display immediately turned dark red and showed an air quality reading of 331. According to the purifier, the healthy blue zone is between 0 and 12, so our indoor air was nowhere near healthy. I left it running, and within a couple of hours the reading had dropped to 94 (yellow). By the time I woke up the next morning, it was down to 1 (Blue! I slept through the green zone). I honestly couldn't believe the difference. One thing I really enjoy is watching how responsive the sensor is. If I leave the room and come back, opening the bedroom door causes the reading to jump a few points almost immediately. It's surprisingly sensitive. As long as I keep it running, it stays around 1 or 2. Earlier today I turned it off for about an hour because the outdoor air seemed a little better, and the reading climbed into the 30s (still in the green zone, but clearly not as clean as before). I turned it back on, and it quickly settled back down to 1–2. The room I'm using it in is my bedroom, which is about 11' x 11' with 12-foot ceilings. The product says it can handle much larger spaces, but this is New York City—none of my rooms are especially large! For this space, it's been outstanding. The biggest difference for me is how much better I've been sleeping. This purifier has made a noticeable improvement, and I can honestly say it does what it claims. The product also advertises compatibility with Google Home, Alexa, and Wi-Fi controls. I don't use any of those smart home features, so I've only operated it with the onboard buttons, which have been simple and straightforward. I can't comment on the smart integration and don't think the unit has an app. The only thing I can complain about is the instructions are pretty vague. I had to do a deep dive search to find out what the reading numbers mean. There is a link to read the pdf guidebook but I could not find the information there. Dreo should do a better job with the manual. That being said the set up instructions are easy and clear. It is just understanding what the readings mean. It is a simple design - about the size of a small round office trash pail. Doesn't take up as much space as purifiers used to. If poor air quality, allergies, asthma, or wildfire smoke are concerns where you live, I can wholeheartedly recommend this purifier. Based on my experience, it's made a real difference in my home. ... show more

  • Not bad, but not perfect
Set name: Black Standard
This is the first Dreo product I've tried, though I understand the brand is slowly becoming more popular for small home applicances. As background, I live close to both the beach and a couple major roadways, and have a dog, so my house tends to give air cleaners a pretty good workout. For years, I've had a couple of Filtrete units which I've felt have always performed well. First I'll discuss noise. On the lowest setting, this unit is indeed very quiet. The description states 18dB, and whilie I don't have a meter, that seems possible. Again at the lowest speed, it's almost silent, even when standing right next to the unit. The next lowest speed is also fairly quiet - running in my bedroom, it doesn't disturb sleep at all, and is mostly a "soft movement of air" sound, and not a "machinery" sound. The higher speeds, though, are loud enough you'd probably find them bothersome while sleep. The highest speed, in fact, was even too loud to have next to my desk while working without being disturbing. It's not a bad sound, but it sounds a bit like "air rushing over plastic", if that makes sense. The front panel has a large light which illuminates and changes color to indicate the pollution level it's detecting in your air. It's very easy to turn off, though, which is good - cause it's likely far brigther than you'd want on in your home (especially a bedroom) at night. The automatic sensing mode seems to work well - it's reacted to both cooking as well as dog brushing nearby, and pretty quickly steps up the speed. The filter element is easy to change, but the overall design isn't as good as the Filtrete units. For starters, to change the filter, you have to flip the unit upside down, and set it on something. Over time, unless you remember to put down a towel each time, you're going to scratch up the top this way. I managed to do so my first first day, just getting it set up. Also, the compartment the filter goes in is cylindrical, somewhat deep, and dark plastic - so periodic cleaning won't be easy and will take a longer vacuum nozzle. It also has a small compartment and two supplied pads you can add essential/fragrance oils to. That's not really my jam, but I did try it with a bit of diffuser oil I had on hand. It works, but it's a subtle effect, and dissipates in maybe two days. ... show more

  • Excellent performance, unique design, trusted performance, quality, and brand
Set name: Black Standard
I've used many air purifiers over the years up to dysons and Dreo continues to be a good brand with solid quality and support for long term household devices. However at around $90 this purifier sits in a competitive price range and needs the performance, features, and build quality to justify it over 3rd parties. In its core it's a very simplified device and setup is just removing the filter packaging and plugging it in. The controls were intuitive enough that you don't need the manual. The front LED display is clean and easy to read showing both the current fan speed and the PM2.5 air quality reading. The sutomatic mode is standard and adjusts the fan speed based on the detected air quality. The quiet mode and sleep mode is the call out being able to operate without being noticeable making it ideal for bedrooms or anywhere where noise can be distracting. When air quality drops and the fan ramps up it becomes more audible but it's a bit quieter than many while still having a strong air flow. Build quality felt excellent and although it was a plastic build nothing felt cheap or skipped out on. The housing has a sturdy hard plastic touch and the controls responded on tap. The device does not take up much floor space. It has all the needed features like the timer, four fan speeds, aroma pad, and air quality sensor except a app/wifi control for the $90 which would've made this device the stand out. Performance has been solid as it did spectacular at circulating air in medium sized rooms and is especially useful during allergy season. It has a one way air-intake in the back and not a 360 like other options so if placed near an AC outlet it works wonder in blasting cold air upwards to help cool down rooms. The color changing air quality indicator provides quick visual feedback as well as a nightlight for the room which can be turned off. At around $90, I think this represents good value compared to the competition. There are cheaper purifiers available via 3rd parties but many lack features like a PM2.5 sensor, real-time AQI display, quiet operation, or AHAM certification which is what sets Dreo and its reputation apart. Overall this is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for an air purifier for their space and okay with a big colorful light in the front. ... show more

  • Quiet, effective, and the scent diffuser is a nice bonus
Set name: Black Standard
I got this because I wanted an air purifier for my living room that could handle pet dander and cooking smells without sounding like a jet engine, making it hard to think. The first thing I noticed when I set it up was how surprisingly compact it is for a unit that claims to cover large rooms. The sleek black design fits right in without being an eyesore. What works well is the performance. The filter system says it captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, which feels like it's made a noticeable difference in how fresh my room is, especially with my dog around . The PM2.5 monitor and display are useful too, I can actually see the air quality improving in real time, which is oddly satisfying. The Turbo mode pushes out strong airflow when I need a quick clean after I've cooked something stinky, and the sleep mode drops down to a quiet level, which is genuinely whisper quiet and barely noticeable at night . I also love the built-in scent diffuser, I add a few drops of essential oil and it makes the room smell lovely without being overpowering. One thing to be aware of is that the coverage claims can be a little misleading. The 856 square feet rating is based on one air change per hour, but for effective purification, the more realistic coverage is around 178 square feet. It works great for a bedroom or living room, but do not expect it to handle a giant open concept space at peak efficiency. You would do better with more than one unit in that case. Also, the standard version does not have WiFi or app control, so if you want smart features, you will need the "S" model instead . This purifier is best for anyone who wants a quiet, effective air cleaner for a bedroom or medium sized room with the added perk of a scent diffuser. It has been a solid addition to my space. Considering the cost, I think it's a great value for it's performance. It's saved my living room from unwanted cooking smells, and it's durable so I expect it to last a long time. ... show more

  • Quiet, compact, and responsive purifier with excellent air-quality display & detection at good price
Set name: White Standard
I already use several larger air purifiers, including multiple Winix C535 units and a Shark HC452, so this DREO immediately stood out for how compact it is. It has more of a desktop-sized footprint, but includes many of the features I normally associate with larger models. Setup was simple. The cylindrical filter is accessed by twisting off the entire bottom cover, removing the filter, and taking off its protective plastic bag. The filter has screening on both its inner and outer surfaces. Three aroma pads are included, with one already installed and two replacements in the package. The display is one of my favorite parts of this purifier. It is bright, easy to read, and clearly shows the PM2.5 reading along with a color indicator for the current air quality. When the air quality changed near the purifier, the reading and color responded almost immediately. Both gradually returned to normal as the air cleared. The touch controls are also clearly labeled and easy to understand. It is fairly quiet, running more quietly than my Winix units and roughly on par with my Shark purifier. I previously owned a smaller desktop purifier that was loud enough to vibrate and rattle the furniture beneath it. This one does not have that problem. The aroma pad is a nice added feature for anyone who wants to use a small amount of essential oil. The automatic mode, timer, adjustable speeds, sleep mode, child lock, and filter reminder also give it a good collection of practical features. The one thing I did not love is that it only includes the filter already installed in the unit. The correct DR-HPA032 replacement is easy to locate by its model number, but an extra filter would have added value, especially since this is still a relatively new purifier with fewer replacement options than my longer-established models. At the current price range of between $79.98 - $89.99, this feels like a good value. It is compact enough for a bedroom, office, or larger tabletop, while providing a responsive air-quality monitor, attractive display, quiet operation, and the controls expected from a larger purifier. ... show more

  • Breathe Easy: A Dust & Dander Lifesaver for Rural Homes!
Set name: Black Standard
Having a heavily shedding German Shepherd and living in a semi-rural part of Florida near both a farm and a concrete factory means dust, pollen, and pet hair are a constant battle in our house. During the hotter months, we rely entirely on the A/C, but when the cooler weather finally arrives and we open up the doors and windows for some fresh air, the outdoor dust absolutely pours inside. I got this DREO Home Air Purifier 338 specifically for our bedroom to make sure the air we are breathing at night is clean, filtered, and mold-free, and it has absolutely delivered. Here is why this unit has been a fantastic addition to our home: Incredibly Responsive Sensors: The air quality sensor on this unit is highly sensitive and remarkably accurate. It instantly detects changes in the room—for instance, if I light incense in the house or if someone accidentally burns food on the stove, the unit immediately picks up on it, kicks into gear, and clears the air in no time. Tackles Heavy Pet Shedding: Having a German Shepherd means GSD "glitter" (hair and dander) is everywhere. Knowing that this 3-in-1 HEPA filter is constantly trapping those fine airborne pet dander particles and stray hairs before we can breathe them in gives me immense peace of mind. Intuitive Visual Feedback & Sleep Mode: I love the color-coded light indicator on the front. It makes it incredibly easy to see the current air purity level at a glance from across the room. When it's time for bed, the dedicated sleep mode is perfect—it keeps the room dark and comfortable for sleeping. Whisper-Quiet Operation: Most of the time, this unit runs so quietly you barely even know it's there. Because it does such an efficient job of cleaning the air quickly, it spends most of its time maintaining a low, whisper-quiet fan speed. If you live in a dusty area or share your home with heavy-shedding pets, this DREO unit is an absolute blessing. It’s quiet, powerful, and highly effective. Highly recommended! ... show more
