Used in a metal mobile home with no insulation! It is quiet but takes a very long time to cool my room. I have it trained right towards my bed, I really like the cold air! No problems with installation or the remote. It was installed in a wall, we used spray foam which makes it air tight, but nearly impossible to remove if it quits working someday! ... show more

I rarely write reviews, but I never thought I'd be so thrilled with a window A/C. Installation is typical. It's either very easiy (my case) or trickier depending on the window/wall hole. My window is wide, so I have to use the supplied boards to fill the space on either side. Then included foam to make it air tight. This thing is dead quite. I record voiceovers and radio broadcasts (Geek Therapy Radio Podcast)...I used to have to turn off my mic with traditional units. This is so quiet I can continue recording uninterrupted. Efficiency. As mentioned, I run my office/studio off solar 99% of the time. ~780w panels, 200AH battery, 3000w pure sine inverter. While operating, this pulls ~200w to keep my studio ~76F. Astonishing. And since it's an inverter compressor, there is no surge load. It just gradually and gently ramps up to the required power required. At full tilt, max everything, it ramps up to around ~700w give or take. Its "brain" is smart. For instance, it'll idle doing nothing pulling ~6w. Then, if my room needs to come down to 76F and it's cooler outside, it simply uses the fan ~15w to use the colder outside air to cool the room. No compressor. Why is this useful? Think of a room with large windows. It's 65F outside but the sun ovens the room to 80-85F. Typical units will engage the compressor. This unit will simply pull the cold air inside using only the fan. Brilliant. Think of central AC. If the central AC keeps the same room cool at night (no oven effect), this unit will simply stay idle until the next daylight oven'ing. So, this unit is spectacular. And if you're running off-grid solar, or gas generator during an outage, this unit is the one to get. It sips electrons making either scenario use less energy. I'm almost giddy with how wonderful my Dreo 7500BTU unit is turning out. I'm getting a bigger unit for the garage! ... show more

I purchased this unit back in November. Didn't actually install until right after Christmas. First thing I noticed was how quiet it is and it was cooling very well. Here it is the first of March now, about 75 days after install and whenever the compressor kicks on it makes a loud grinding/vibrating noise. I've checked the install and everything is still secure in place. It only does this when the compressor kicks into a higher mode. It also doesn't seem to be cooling as well as it was originally. Not sure what's gone wrong with it. It is still cooling just doesn't seem to be working like it did two months ago. If it still worked the way it did brand new I would certainly give this five stars. For the record, I've cleaned the filter several times so I know that's not the issue. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. As someone else has written I was impressed by the quality of the AC for the price especially for an inverter but this has completely changed after a month of use and I now regret purchasing this unit over a more highly rated unit like a Midea or LG. While it cools , the unit has become loud, the compressor goes on and off suddenly and it’s started to excessively vibrate. In the middle of the night I’ll be woken up by a jarring noise of the compressor starting or random shaking after a few hours on (watch the video). I reached out to customer service who suggested I empty the reservoir, don’t think that’s the solve for an issue like this. Trying to return ASAP ... show more

    • SUPER quiet!!

I bought this 7,500BTU inverter A/C for our 300 sq ft bedroom so that we don't have to run the central air to cool down the entire house while we are sleeping (kind dumb, in my mind). I am amazed (shocked really) at how well this thing cools and it is a quiet as the mini-splits. It's actually quieter in our bedroom then our central air is because the air handler is closest to our bedroom and the air pressure at the vent is quite strong so we have to partially close the vent. Partially closing the vent makes the rushing air quite loud. All we hear from the A/C unit is a whisper light sound of whooshing air coming out of the air distributor. Can't hear the compressor at all. It took me 15 minutes to install and we enjoyed it last night. One thing that I would like to add....... I was a little nervous about ordering this unit because the window opening that I wanted to install it in is only 21"wide. The measurements in the listing are erroneous. This unit measures 20.75" wide and I had no problem installing it. The spreaders on both sides are easily removeable by simply pulling one long pin from each side. As advertised, this air conditioner is very quiet and efficient. And, the appearance much better than other products of this type. The unit is designed as a window unit. I installed it in a wall and it is not perfect for that application. The guide that came with it is a bit vague. It doesn't explain what "auto" means in the cooling mode or how to set the temperature set point in "auto". In "eco" mode, it cycles on and off and although not loud when doing this, the cycling does make it noisier and is annoying. I am happy enough that I bought a second unit. ... show more

Remote and buttons have stopped working. I have had this product for a year and previously wrote a review about the noise and was asked to take it down for a gift card. Now the remote does not work (replaced batteries) and display buttons are not changing any settings.
