Great for the price
After reading some of the negative reviews before purchasing this for a fun project with my 9 year old I was a little skeptical of getting this, however, I was surprised by the detail of the instructions and the ease of installation along with the quality of parts for the price. It is definitely a parent child project as my 9 year old wouldn't have been able to do it themself, but after a few hours it worked great the motion sensors work very well. The sound level of the robot is not near as loud as some of the reviews made it seem to be. For the price, it is a great value. Make sure you have small wire cutters as you will need them to cut out the parts and remove the burrs.

Engaging STEM Learning with Elenco Teach Tech - Zivko The Robot
The Elenco Teach Tech - Zivko The Robot is a fantastic addition to the world of STEM learning toys for kids aged 10 and above. This interactive and A/I capable robot provides an engaging assembly experience that combines education with fun. The assembly process, while a bit time-consuming, proved to be an enjoyable challenge. It not only encourages hands-on learning but also develops patience and problem-solving skills. However, it's worth noting that this may not be suitable for those lacking the patience to assemble such items. Once assembled, Zivko's infrared sensor capabilities add an interactive element that sparks curiosity. The robot responds to its surroundings, creating an immersive play experience. It's a clever way to introduce kids to basic principles of robotics and artificial intelligence in an accessible and enjoyable manner. On the downside, the need for 4 AAA batteries (not included) may catch some by surprise. It's advisable to have them on hand before beginning the assembly process to avoid any interruptions in the excitement. Overall, the Elenco Teach Tech - Zivko The Robot is a good product that successfully merges education and play. It's an ideal choice for kids with an interest in STEM subjects and a willingness to engage in the assembly process. While I wouldn't recommend it for those who lack patience for assembling such items, for the right audience, it provides a valuable and entertaining learning experience.

It WILL break
Don't buy unless you want to ruin Christmas. Got this for my kids and gave it to them early. The parts are very weak plastic and will break. 5 minutes after we finished putting it together the on button basically pushed into the head and keeps doing it and button is not always responsive. It is loud and annoying to turn on. Follow and object detection works but is buggy. Building it was the only real fun part. Absolutely wish I had bought something else. My kids looked forward to this and it is just junk. They want to play with their robot but at this point turning it on is frustrating, the legs keep breaking (as in the plastic keeps breaking apart), it's loud, and it seems like it constantly is ineed of being taken apart and rebuilt. The time it takes to set this guy up is going to last more than rhe fun you have with it. Extremely disapointed. Would return it but my wife threw the box away. Totally not worth my money or the disappointment it brought us.

Built this with my 10yo.
Great project for a young builder. He had a blast assembling it. It works as described but struggles to walk on carpet. I'm not surprised that it needs a hard flat surface. I would totally recommend this for others

Good product if it would work.
A fun project for several hours for my 8 year old granddaughter’s first real “build”. Frankly legs only noisily vibrated with no movement if the robot when finished but lights did blink and that was close enough to be something of a success. It was fun and challenging and just to get the lights to blink brought joy and a sense of accomplishment to GD. there is no way to check the motor and related moving parts until it’s complete and there is no easy way back if it just sits and vibrates. One other note- there is no AI component to this at all despite description. I see from other comments that customer service is good and I have requested a reply. Will adjust review if I get help.

Build it yourself. Not assembled in any way
I thought I was purchasing a robot that would come in a box, and all I'd have to do is turn it in, but that's not true. You literally have to put the whole thing together. 4 AAA batteries are needed, they are not included. The instructions are extremely clear, no words just pictures. You will need a very tiny Phillips head screwdriver, like the ones that come in an eye glass repair kit. It says you'll need a diagonal cutter for trimming the burrs off, but I didn't need them. I just chewed them off. If you're able to follow directions pretty well, then it should be fairly easy. All the parts are lettered and numbered. DO NOT CUT THE PLASTIC PARTS IN ADVANCE, because you won't be able to identify the parts when it comes time to use them. When you get to step 2 there will be a tiny gap after installing the motor with connecter (part P13) don't worry that it's not 100% flush. I did that part twice because I thought I messed up, but I didn't.
