  • Great tool, works with Milwaukee M12 rotary tool
Style: Shaft attachment
Fits my Milwaukee M12 rotary tool. Working great so far. The cable is a bit annoying due to it being a bit stiff and awkward, but it is to be expected. The smaller handpiece feels a lot nicer in the hand and makes engraving and more precise work easier. Didn’t read the manual, but the installation is self-explanatory. Simply remove the black plastic nut and the nut and collet that holds the tool bit and screw in the silver “Drive Adapter” nut that came in the bag with the paperwork. The Drive Adapter has a square hole which the internal cable of this handpiece cable slots into and the screw in the outer plastic nut which keeps this handpiece tool to the rotary tool. The little silver button on the handpiece locks the shaft into place so you can tighten your bits/collet. A second bag contains the nut/collet that you can install onto the handpiece. But I reinstall nut/collet/bit that came with my M12 rotary tool which fits perfectly. ... show more

  • Fits 395 Dremel with a little work
Style: Shaft attachment
I lost the "square drive nut" adapter that came in a kit with the 395 Dremel motor and the 222-T2 Flex Shaft. As a result I've never been able to try the Flex Shaft in the kit. I need it now, soo I bought the 225-02. I was worried about the adapter thread matching the older Dremel motor so it was the first thing I tried. It didn't thread on at first so I tried threading a chuck on both the new and old Flex shafts and it fit everywhere. I use it normally on the Dremel motor so the threads are all supposed to be the same. Then I grabbed a little brass wire brush and cleaned the threads of the motor. Then the adapter threaded right on. It seems the threads are a little different (%) on the aluminum adapter than on the steel (same TPI & Dia). All this because I lost the adapter 10+ years ago :) Dumb. So now I have 2 flex shafts. The adjustable chuck looks like it will work with the new one if I remove the plastic piece at the end (the chuck turns). I haven't tried the 1/8" collet yet, but the chuck will do nicely if it doesn't. So far so good! The 1/8 in collet works well. They mention to keep the flex shaft lubricated, but don't seem to mention a specific type of lube. I used Boeshield T9 on bicycle and motorcycle chains in the past. It goes on like WD40, but then dries to a wax. It lubricates well without attracting dust. The Flex shaft seems to run cooler & with less friction than with just the factory lube. It flows into the Flex shaft easily. Unless there's something better, this is what I'll go with. ... show more

  • As advertised.
Style: Shaft attachment
It is a Dremel product and works like it should. Local box store didn't have one in stock and I got one the same day I ordered it.

  • Button Lock may Temporarily Malfunction
Style: Shaft attachment
I'm using the Dremel 3000. The button lock on the flex shaft tool may temporarily malfunction or catch within a half-locked position, causing significant strain on the flex shaft tool shaft and Dremel motor. May also hear the clicking noise of the button shaft lock on the flex shaft tool handle rattling. To fix, stop the tool and operate the flex shaft tool lock button thoroughly several times, ensuring adequate locking/unlocking of the shaft. I also squirted a little "Dry Lube" lubricant into the lock button mechanism, ensuring the button had enough good lubricant. Again, symptoms of the flex shaft tool lock button malfunctioning: 1) May hear a constant rattling/clicking like noise from the flex shaft tool handle, near the flex shaft tool shaft lock button. 2) When operating the Dremel motor, may need require increasing torque greater than 2 or greater than 4, for the shaft to start rotating. Another con, the directions are extremely very small fine print, too small for us older folks to read, including multiple languages. Should be a manual/pamphlet for each language... cheap manufacturing of the instructions, and yet they still desire the end user read and follow safety instruction? Directions also seem to omit explicitly indicating to switch the shaft nut with the included shaft nut! I thought the manufacturer was being nice, and including extra parts.... foolish me! The included shaft nut has the required square female end, for properly engaging with the flex shaft. Other than the previously mentioned, everything else works as should, making using the tool much easier with likely far less hand fatigue due to being narrower and more light weight. ... show more

  • Nice...
Style: Shaft attachment
Purchased this in a kit with the Dremel tool and the accessory kit so all three reviews will be the same. the Dremel is powerful when needed and subtle when required. it is easy to handle just remember to keep the vents clear - the flex shaft is a big help for this. the flex shaft and the handle are comfortable and easy to handle. find a way to hang the dremel up and out of the way but not too far from the work item. The accessory kit leaves some to be desired, but comes with lots of sanding drums but not many bits. otherwise it is OK. ... show more
