No more untangling long, heavy cables or worrying about power outlets near the water. I was skeptical about the battery, but it easily handled my entire in-ground pool (including the walls and waterline) with plenty of power to spare. The LiFi and App control are super responsive, allowing me to monitor the progress without even stepping outside. The Auto-Retrieval feature is the icing on the cake—it parks itself right by the wall when it's done, so I don’t have to "fish" for it. It’s an investment, but for the crystal-clear results and the time it saves me, it’s worth every penny!

The media could not be loaded. The Dreame Z1 Pro was the first pool robot I owned. It feels very sturdy but it is also quite heavy. The mobile app is convenient, but you have to use the app every time you want to start the robot after placing it in the water. It also comes with a remote, but I have not found it very useful. When the robot finishes cleaning and stops at the side of the pool, it is difficult to guide it back to the other side using the remote. I am not sure if this is because of signal issues or some other limitation.

The media could not be loaded. My backyard has a lot of trees and flowers, so leaves and debris constantly fall into the pool. To keep the surface clean, I bought a Betta skimmer robot that floats and cleans the top of the water. It works great—but my previous corded pool cleaner would constantly get its cable tangled with the Betta, jamming it or pulling it off course. I had to untangle the cord almost every day after cleaning. That’s actually a big reason why I decided to try the Dreame Z1 Pro wireless pool robot—and I’m so glad I did. First of all, no more cord, which means my Betta can work freely, and I don’t have to babysit the pool equipment anymore. That alone saved me a lot of hassle. The Z1 Pro itself is a big upgrade. It looks and feels high-end—sturdy construction, solid weight, and not cheap plastic. It’s a little bigger than my old cleaner, but the cleaning brush is wider and more powerful, so it gets the job done faster. My pool has several steps, and my old robot would often get stuck on them. This one hasn’t gotten stuck once, even on the steps or uneven areas. What I really like are the smart cleaning modes. Besides the standard full-clean mode, it also has: • a mode for just cleaning the pool bottom, • a wall-only cleaning mode, • and even a special mode for cleaning the waterline area—which is super useful since that’s where dirt and scum tend to build up. It connects to WiFi, and the mobile app is easy to use. You can choose modes and track cleaning status right from your phone. Another small detail I love: the filter basket is one large, easy-to-remove piece. After cleaning, I just pull it out and rinse. My old robot had two tiny baskets you had to unclip and open—kind of a pain. Now, for the downsides: • Because it’s wireless, you do have to take it out and charge it after each cleaning. It’s not fully “set-and-forget” like a corded one with scheduled runs. • It’s also a bit heavy, especially right after a cleaning cycle when there’s still water inside. Lifting it out of the pool takes a bit of effort. That said, the freedom from cords, the smarter cleaning, and the overall cleaning performance make this absolutely worth it for me. If you have a pool with steps, lots of trees nearby, or use a floating skimmer like the Betta, this wireless cleaner is a major upgrade.

I wanted to like this cleaner, but it failed in a way that raises serious concerns about build quality. After normal use, the right drive wheel completely stopped working. The wheel now spins freely and no longer engages with the motor, making the unit unusable. When I inspected it, a washer and part of a sheared screw/bolt had actually come out from inside the unit. This isn’t a maintenance issue or debris jam — it’s an internal mechanical failure. A critical fastener in the drive system appears to have snapped, which caused the wheel assembly to disconnect. For a product at this price point, that’s unacceptable. Once a structural component like that fails, it calls into question the durability of the entire unit. To be fair, performance was solid before this happened. But reliability matters more than anything with a pool cleaner, and this unit didn’t hold up. I’d recommend caution unless there’s a design revision or improved quality control.

I’m really impressed with the DREAME Z1 Pro pool cleaner! Its cordless design makes it incredibly convenient to use, and the suction power is amazing. It picks up all kinds of debris, even tiny particles, and climbs pool walls and the waterline with ease. The battery lasts up to 180 minutes, which is perfect for my large pool. The dual filtration system really plays a key role in keeping the water clean. It saves me a lot of time and effort, and best of all, I no longer have to worry about tangled cords. I highly recommend this pool cleaner!
