  • They worked
Just what I ordered !!

  • Great Strings
DR are my new favorite string company. I'm using 3 different types of their strings now, and the Pure Blues are great for if you like the feel of NPS strings (smooth and warm) but still want the punch of stainless steel. Again, these do exactly what DR says they do.

  • Similar to Sunbeams, a bit more mids.
I use either these or Sunbeams as my go to strings on all my basses. If I need to tame the zing or add warmth to a Stingray or P, I’ll use Sunbeams. If I want a bit more mids or a less polite string, I’ll use Pure Blues. The PB’s have a bit more tension than SB’s, but otherwise feel very similar. They are more even across the mids than PB and maybe a tad less on the low end. ... show more

  • Beautifully nondescript!
I like these strings on my P bass. Sounds like the instrument instead of imposing its own character of that makes sense. Easy on the fingers, all-around likable strings.

  • great colorful strings
bright and punchy on full tone knob, and warm and mellow on tone knob down. versatile strings with a lot of lows.

  • Just right
I've been on the hunt for a go to round wound string and I found it in the DR Pure Blues. They have most of the sound of stainless strings without chewing up your fingers.

  • Glad I tried them!
First time using these strings, and I’m glad I did! They sound great. Punchy, and articulate. Everything I want my bass sound to be. Slightly more expensive than what I’ve used in the past, but so far, I think they’re worth it. Haven’t had them on long enough to gauge their longevity, but I’m anticipating they will last. I’ve already ordered a second set, and put them on one of my other basses. Very happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Longest lasting strings I’ve ever used
Excellent strings - great punch - not too bright. They last forever. Last set was 4 months old with weekly rehearsals and a gig.
