I was a little worried when I bought this, since there were some negative reviews and this was my first time using resin, but I had absolutely no problems with this. It came with gloves, two measuring beakers, and was supposed to come with popsicle sticks for mixing, though mine didn't (but I used my own and it wasn't a problem), which was helpful for measuring and especially helpful for keeping clean during my first resin experience. True to the instructions, once mixed with the hardener, the resin was liquid for about 40 minutes before it started to get thick and difficult to use. It was transparent in color, and worked really well for the stamps I was embedding in it. There was a slight amount of color change in the stamps, but I was expecting this since they're pretty old, and there wasn't any color-bleeding at all, which impressed me. Since I was working with such small pieces, it only took about 10 hours to dry completely. There were a decent amount of bubbles, but I used a small lighter and that took care of most them. This was my very 1st time using resin. I'm an xray tech and we need to use markers identifying left side vs right side. They usually cost $20 and up and they get lost all the time. Thus I figured I'd try to make my own. I'm so glad I found Dr. Resin. Not only was it absolutely simple to use, but my markers came out perfect. No bubbles. No issues and it didn't need a uv light to cure. I left them in the mold for about 2 days and they were hard and sturdy yet very lightweight when I removed them If you're a beginner, I highly recommend that you try this brand as it was soooo easy to use and I am sure you will be happy with the results. By the way the resin is crystal clear. I added some color powder to it so I can quickly grab a left or right by color when I'm doing an exam. I just ordered my second set as now I'm obsessed. Yes, it takes forever for it to start to set up (2 hours or more), even then it is still fairly liquid and doesn't solidify until hours later. However, for me, it was very forgiving, I only estimate the equal parts, and it set up clear (no bubbles after curing) and hard. Never used this type of resin epoxy before, so the price was worth it to try my hand at it. I would get something that has a quicker set time if I was to continue in this hobby. It does take a lot of mixing, I don't know how to explain it, I had just kind of hoped that I had mixed it enough before I used it. It didn't really give any indication that it was thoroughly mixed. As a final thought, it came well sealed, but you get what you see, one bottle of resin, and one bottle of hardener. I recommend gloves. It has a very slight odor, nothing harsh. ... show more

Amazing product, I ran out of product and needed some resin in short notice. I mixed according to directions. I waited 24 hrs. Sanded smooth and works great and looks great to fill in cracks and holes in my wood project. I added powdered colorants.

I'm new to working to resin and I've been very happy with my first choice of resins to work with. I'm almost finished with my first 64 ounces and have made many projects with it. The first time I used it, I got a few bubbles because I didn't know to run a silicone tool around the edge of the mold and forgot to use my little torch. But the second time, I corrected those mistakes and I've had wonderful results since then. I've found that most of the tiny bubbles that appear after mixing will disappear by the time I'm pouring it into the mold. It's dry to the touch, though still bendy within 8 or 9 hours and can be removed to insert into another project as I did with the red and blue coaster. It's hard enough to unmold after 24 hours, although they say it takes two days to fully cure. I did the butterfly coaster with a clear layer containing the butterfly and added the dark blue the next day. The resin is of medium viscosity after mixing, which works well with the dispersion of glitter. I have also had success with a dragon skin effect and have tried a couple of blooming techniques. I've also used alcohol ink (the beautiful red octagon was done by dropping alcohol in in stages and mixing to my satisfaction to provide a beautiful pattern and color). Some of my projects have been ambitious for a beginner and I'm still making some mistakes, but Dr. Resin has been very forgiving and cooperative with crystal clear and beautiful results.     • Great Value For Epoxy Resin

I purchased this to put a top coat on a few carbon fiber skinned tables I had made for my workshop. Since the top of these surfaces are going to get banged up I did not want want to the fairly expensive West Systems epoxy I normally use so I figured I would give this a try. The product was easy to use, there was very little bubbling during the mixing process, it went on smooth, and cure time was relatively low. From the looks of things, the finished products is going to look great and be very durable. If you are looking for an arts and crafts epoxy I don't think you can go wrong with Dr. Resin. As a side note - I make a lot of small to medium sized carbon fiber parts for sim racing (button boxes, digital displays, etc.). I probably would not use this Dr. Resin product for that purpose. Like most of the epoxy resin that is available these days, the formulation is pretty thick. This works great for arts and crafts, tabletops, and other hobby projects but not so well for small, detailed carbon fiber parts. That is not to take anything away from this project, it is simply a matter of the right tool for the job combined with personal preference. This resin is ok. It’s very affordable but I had a few issues. One issue is that it takes for ever to cure. I believe it said it takes about 24- 72 hours to cure fully. That was already something I was not use to as the resin I’ve brought previously are able to be de molded after about 5 or 6 hours where I left this resin to cure over at for maybe 12+ hours but it was still wet. Second issue is that for some reason it was so hard to fully mix. Like I was mixing for 10 plus minutes and it still wasn’t mixed. If you don’t mind how long it takes then this is a good option.
