I waffled about which blanket to get when browsing online. I knew I wanted something warm and soft to give as a gift, but also something that will last unlike all the others. This one looked nice, but the off brand deterred me. Turns out there are a few different brands marked on this box, so I think it's coming from a larger company. It was thinner and not as plush and I thought, but that's ok. It makes a great throw, and it's thin enough to fit between blankets. It's also quite compact, and even arrived in a small tight package. Another great thing is that this blanket gets hot. Many blankets give off a mild heat when at the max, but the lowest setting on this is close to what the max is on a regular blanket. This thing can really warm up! I like that. This feature is likely a good thing, but take that in to consideration when purchasing. Also, do you notice how many electric blankets have the control with two wires sticking out the same end, leaving the controller to flop around and get in the way? Not this one! This one has wires coming out each end to it's straight with the cord. That's so much better, and I don't understand why all manufacturers don't do that. Overall it's a good purchase. I'm giving it 5 stars. I may revise this later if I feel it's necessary (like if it breaks way too early) but for now it's great. And the color... awesome! It's a super nice, clean blue. Blanket did NOT have 2-10 hour timer! Only has ONE SETTING OF 4 hours! Description CLEARLY states blanket has timer that could be set 2-10 hours. The only reason I bought this particular blanket was because of the supposed timer. Their description is blatantly false. The item pictured doesnt even match their description. Should have just bought a cheaper brand. This one cost $50! So many more available at a cheaper price that dont have false descriptions! Plus 2 days after recieving item, price dropped $20! The main reason its four stars instead of 5 is the fact that i have to buy it again. Haha... SO when I bought the blanket it was wonderful. 100% satisfied. The partial heating wasn't an issue due to the blanket actually getting hot. I mean I need to take this off for a second hot. In terms of washing it, try your absolute hardest to not get anything that would require a full machine wash. If you do wash it follow the rules to a T. After a few trips to the washing machine the tag with the instructions starts falling off. I have very few fabric fraying unless the cat gets involved. I washed my blanket a few times in semi-warm water or just cold with a air dry setting. I think I may have used heat in the dryer once. Just today it died. I am SOO SAD. It has a blinking red light on the remote once its plugged in and you push the button. I looked it up most things online say that means there is an open circuit in the blanket. I'm not electronically savvy in wires nor want to risk actually cooking myself alive. So I am in the market for this same blanket. Disclaimer for some of these other comments I use this blanket religiously. Almost every single day I have it set to yellow or medium for the majority of the day. I also sleep with it and sometimes wake up to turn it back on. So in terms of bang for your buck this to me is totally worth it. I will say when using the blanket the dye or coloring from the it starts to stain the cords on the outside. I have a cat that likes to kneed when she sits on it. But I'm pretty sure I'm the reason the circuit is no longer closed. ... show more

This blanket is not perfect, and for $50 it’s hard to expect anything less. However it is very snuggly and warm. The middle and bottom get hotter than the sides, which is weird but not nessecarily a deal breaker for me. I tend to get too hot after a while so the variety in temperature is actually kind of nice, although I don’t think that is how these are supposed to work. it also will heat up without being turned on if left under another blanket. I unplug it to avoid this issue but seems kind of sketchy. the label says not to leave it under other blankets so there you go. Color and size are accurate. Overall, because I used a gift card and because it is very soft and cozy, I like it. But it’s got some issues for sure. ... show more

I just purchased this yesterday so that I could have today at work. I could NOT wait to use this as I am always so cold at work. I cut this on at 8am and now at 9am its not heating. I am just hoping that after one hour it cools on its own even though I didn't read that it was supposed to do that. I searched and searched for a blanket that had the best reviews and the least "stopped working" complaints. I am just hoping that this doesn't disappoint me because it looks like that's what is happening. Its 9:10am and its still not warming. 1 hour and 10 minutes after use...... I will update if anything changes. The blanket itself is very nice and comfy, I have plenty of these type of blankets I was looking for a heated one. I think it may have auto shut off bc after unplugging and plugging back up its working again ... show more

My wife bought me this for Christmas but gifted it early. We live on the Gulf Coast, and even when the temperature falls, we love to sit on the porches in the evening. After a recent surgery (as I approached my 70's), it was getting uncomfortable for me whenever the temperature sank below the low 50's. The first time I used the blanket, just large enough to drape over my legs from my toes to my waist, my "porch time" became unlimited. It is super-soft and just the right warmth (never hot). Such a soft cozy blanket, I gave it a second chance (2nd blanket) because I wanted it to work so bad however the whole blanket doesn't heat, only a portion or about half of it heats, if it's supposed to be like that, which I don't think so, it should be stated
