The power-efficient heat pump pool heater is electric powered with an input requirement of 208 - 230 Vac. The non-corrosive design makes this unit ideal for all environments including coastal climate, maintaining the swimming pool at an ideal consistent temperature. Extending the swimming to all year long. The Dr. Heater heat pump is designed with industry-leading technology for top performance and stability. Our Full DC Inverter fan motor and compressor can adjust heating capacity between 20% - 100% for the most efficient operation. The compressor is designed with a twin rotary that operates together to balance the movement of each other for anti-shaking, which is higher efficiency, lower vibration & quieter operation. To reduce the compressor noise even further, the compressor is encapsulated by an acoustic-suppressing cover. We are trying to build a fully solar + battery powered home... so we knew we wanted to ditch our natural gas pool heater for a heat pump model. We decided on the Dr. Infrared DR-00HP because it is a variable inverter system that is as efficient as possible. Even in the winter, we can heat our 580 gallon hot tub from 57F to 100F in about 6 hours and uses 20kWh of energy. A non heat pump model would be 61kWh of energy so that's a COP of 3 in the winter. in the summer i've seen it above 4, on warmer days. Obviously, if you're in a rush to heat the pool, a natural gas heater can't be beat, heating that same hot tub in about 1 hour, but now with solar, we can heat the pool and hot tub and do it for free! So if you want to go low carbon, and save money, solar plus pool heat pump is an awesome choice. We were spending about $300 per month on natural gas for the pool, and now that is entirely removed. Depending on your electricity rates, vs natural gas rates, it can be worth it even if you don't have solar. The system also produces water that we run into our gray water system, to water our plants! Had it for over a year, and it works incredibly well, and we highly recommend! They also have a larger 140,000 BTU model if you want even faster heating. works well with our existing Pentair automation system, and was a breeze to install. Bought the 900 for my pool and jacuzzi. Does a good job getting my jacuzzi up to a high temp in less than an hour. Pool heating is fast as well for its size. My pool measures 17x30ft. The app is very handy and easy to use as well.

I have had the heater installed for 6 months. It is working great. I have a small plunge pool, roughly 5000 gallons. The heater can raise the water temperature approximately 2 degrees per hour. Heat pumps are slower than gas heaters to change the water temperature but are great at holding the temperature and much more efficient. We turn the heater on Thursday morning by Thursday night the pool is up to 99 degrees and it will hold the temperature all weekend. Definitely use a solar pool cover to hold in the heat in when not in use. The cover makes a huge difference. ... show more

I purchased the model that says it’ll heat 28,000 gallons of water in it in ground swimming pool mine ground swimming pool is only 25,000 and it will not heat. The water tried to get them to help. They said they don’t help. This company is worthless, useless and don’t waste your money

I was somewhat nervous about ordering, but it turned out great! Delivered on scheduled in a box truck with a lift gate. I was able to hook it up myself. 220 v using 10/2 wire and a 30 amp breaker. Some 1 1/2" pvc valves and fittings . Turned it on May10 here in Northern Indiana, took the water temperature from 62 to 74 in 24 hours. Water temp. currently is in the the mid 80's now even though the air temp highs have only been in the mid 70's. ... show more
